Petrus Romanus: Final Pope is Here

Nothing new under the sun
I bought this book in the hope that l would read something refreshingly new and insightful. Can't say that l found that. It may be helpful to have a check list of things most educated and well researched Catholics would already know: 1. The Church as a "power" is not the one founded by Jesus Christ but a development of history following the collapse of the Roman Empire and the subsequent take over of secular roles by power mad clerics and "some" bad & yes devious Popes. 2. The Papacy has a chequered history due to "some" Popes being poor Christians, bad people and corrupt - along with greedy corrupt families using the Papacy to further family greed and positions of status. 3. The growth of Clericalism in the Roman Catholic Church from the fourth century onwards separated the laity from the leadership of the Church by reducing their influence and significance to one of subservience. Little really has changed in this regard despite so called "reforming" Councils: "Do not lord it over them as the pagans do" is the instruction to the Apostles from Jesus - whatever happened to that? 4. The Laity - the baptised members of the Roman Catholic Church - are the bankers of the Church who are rarely consulted on how their financial contributions should be spent. 5. The extreme "cults" and alleged apparitions of the Virgin Mary adds nothing to the salvific work wrought by Jesus' life, death and resurrection. There is only One Saviour in Christianity and that is Jesus Christ. Period. The Virgin Mary, the Mother of the Lord is not a goddess. She is the First Witness and Disciple of her son Jesus. Her role in the "Jesus" story is as The Woman of Faith who "believed" that the message of the Angel would be fulfilled in her life "according to your Word". It is Mary's faith in God's choice of Her that rightly gives her an honoured place in salvation history which is not to be belittled or scorned. Now back to the book. It claims to have evidence of plots by the Jesuits and Freemasons to establish Lucifer in the See of Rome and that in fact that this process is already under way in preparation for the "end times" and the emergence of the False Prophet (another bad wicked Pope) heralding the Anti-Christs' arrival and the seven years of tribulation before the return of Christ to over throw the Devil and all his works. According to the book Freemasonry is rife in the echelons of the Vatican and "princes" of the Church. Satanic worship/rites take place in the Vatican and other places of worship plus collusion with Freemasons. The book is splattered with references to papal pornocracy and the Marian phantom which is distasteful in the extreme but then the book does seem to be written from the perspective views and beliefs of extreme fundamentalist right wing protestants: apologetics, apologetics, bile hatred and more apologetics. Where is the Christian virtue of Charity in all of this?Does the book actually provide incontrovertible proof and supporting evidence for of any of its claims? Not really, just claims and opinions made in supporting tones of ancient prophecies and satanic plots to bring about the "end times". Is this right? Well 2012 came and went despite numerous predictions of a worldwide catastrophe. Is Pope Francis is the Final Pope? A short period of time will prove that right or wrong as well. What this book wishes us to believe it is that devious power grabbing clerics and their associates still walk in the corridors of power in both secular and religious corridors. That l can believe. In the meantime follow the instruction from the angels to the the disciples/apostles at Christ's Ascension into Heaven: why are you men looking to the skies? Go and do the tasks Christ gave you. Live, love one another, heal forgive and grow in the Spirit. As for the "End Times" only the Father knows the day and the time. Not even the Son Jesus knew that. Perhaps the authors need to re-read the New Testament with an open mind and informed exegesis.

Amazing research. Every statement is backed up by a reference to the source. It was, for me, a little heavy reading. I have a good vocabulary but, with this book, I found I was always looking up the meaning of words. The book offers much to discover and teach.

very interesting, as Francis hadn't appeared on the scene at that point. doubt that Francis is "Petrus romanus" due to his age. I think there will be another

Interesting
The book is interesting in its observations and an eye opener. However the book gets caught up in the 2012 end times. As that's passed and the Bible clearly states only the Lord knows when he will return much stated does not appear to have happened.I certainly would suggest researching the references for your own benefit and independent research as to statements of the papacy. It is rather interesting.Beware this is not light reading and is heavy going.
