Higher maintenance than mini-lights and LEDs, but worth it for those of us feeling nostalgic.
There's NOTHING wrong with these; I've ordered about 500 bulbs and the great majority of them work just fine. None of them arrived broken. Just like the C7 bulbs produced in the 80s and 90s, these bulbs burn out randomly. That means some go right away, some survive several seasons of use, and a select few will never work to begin with. This is nothing new to those of us who clearly remember using C7 lights in the past. Anticipate this and order lots of spares. C7 and C9 bulbs have always been unreliable and that's why they were replaced by string mini-lights and LEDs. Keep in mind these bulbs are a standard 5-watts each. You'll want no less than 4x 25-bulb strings on a 6-foot tree; that's no less than a 500-watt tree. There's a high electric cost to running these in addition to the high maintenance cost. C7 lights are not for penny pinchers or those who can't deal with the burden of changing bulbs. It's almost impossible to tell pink bulbs from purple bulbs when lit. The colors seem the same, but pink seems to have a slightly higher luminosity. Don't waste your money buying both pink and purple. Also, keep in mind that the light strings themselves have fuses that can also blow randomly, meaning they can blow when you plug them into an outlet for the very first time. This happened to 1 of the 8 strings I ordered. Get spare fuses! Overall, I'm thrilled to have these. For me, the memories and the nostalgia is worth the cost and burdens that have always been associated with C7 bulbs.

Spots missing color and TOO HOT to touch
I ordered these in blue and white thinking I was ordering from the same company I ordered green and red from last year. I was at around bulb 10 of a 50 strand light and felt heat around my legs (sitting on floor). The blue bulbs were hot to the touch. The blue bulbs had spots of color missing on at least half the bulbs. I know bulbs can be hot so I kept going to replace the 25 because I couldn't return these. Some spots were orange, but I couldn't get those pictures because the heat became too much and the smell of burning plastic too much to keep looking for those couple of bulbs that were like that. So the pics are only of a few. The pics don't show it well since it is hard to take pictures of lights, but the color overall is very "thin" like a thin coat of paint that needs a second coat. I won't be using these because I smelled burning plastic by the time I changed 25 bulbs.I thought I had reordered from the same company I bought from last year. But the packaging is different. The red and green bulbs I have that I was replacing stayed cool to the touch the whole time and the color is fantastic. Not painted color, but solid coloring. Brand of the box of red awesome bulbs is Wintergreen Lighting. Red bulbs box have part number 73-946 on it for C7 opaque bulbs. These bulbs came in a box that the bulbs sit in their individual slots and don't fall over nor rub against each other (pic with red bulbs). The white and blue bulbs from Novelty Lights came in slots separated by cardboard separaters where the bulbs in some boxes were not standing up. You begin to remove bulbs and they fall over in the box because the seperaters are flimsy.

Lights are good - packaging not so much so
Ordered 2 boxes (50 total lights) assorted colors. Delivery was fast but the packaging left a lot to be desired. There was no padding on the top or bottom and it resulted in 2 bulbs being broken on delivery. Of the remaining 48 bulbs one of them the base was not adequately adhered to the glass which made it a bit dicey removing it from the socket when I tested them. The good is the remaining 47 bulbs all worked. The color and intensity is consistent with lights I've bought from other sources.

Dont waste your money on this brand
Ok. Lights were a traditional living room lamp yellow or ‘warm’ bulb color overall but a random few were bright white. I discovered that tapping on bulbs several times brought out the brightness and whiteness. So i did that to 95 or so bulbs already on my bushes and enjoyed the glory for one night. Then it rained which caused the majority of them to go out completely.I took all ten light strands down, unscrewed the 100 little bulbs at my picnic table in the freezing cold and reboxed for returning. I now have regular twinkle lights up for holidays.
