There ain’t any knotty wood that won’t spit with this bad boy.
Very sharp and great quality. The handle is really comfortable. It’s a heave swing but smashes it’s way throug any wood with knots in it. Usually I would have to get out a twist wedge splitter and sledge hammer but nor longer with this bad boy.Just be careful if you haven had a lot of wood chopping practice because if your not very accurate and miss the log then you won’t be able to control or stop this heavy beast hitting the ground or even worse your feet or legs. Over all though it’s a fantastic tool for the experienced person with knarley knotty tough crack logs. Not the axe you can uses on the day to day logs though. Try the lighter X25 for that. I love fiskars wood chopping products.

Brilliant
I've been using this for a few months now and it's safe to say it hasn't met a piece of wood, wet or dry, that it couldn't split. It's a heavy axe and it can be tiring to use for a long time, but I sometimes find I don't have to use much force, using the weight of the axe head instead to do the work.

Quality maul with ability to use as a hammer on metal wedges
I have several Fiskars axes which I'd rate 10/10. This X39 I'd rate 9/10 because it doesn't come with the carry case the others do, and the handle doesn't get wider at the end to stop your hand slipping off. That said my hand hasn't slipped off as it has a grippy rubberised handle - it also has a rubber collar to prevent damage to the handle of you miss your spot. It's 1.2kg heavier than my XXL X27 splitting maul but about 6cm shorter, though still long enough at about 90cm (I'm 6ft1 - 1.85m). I bought this because of the plastic back to the axe head that can be used as a hammer without fear of it shattering or chipping when hammering metal wedges. I have a load of large logs that the axes get stuck in and I feel comfortable in hammering this through with a lump / sledge hammer which saves on the hassle of getting it out and then using a wedge. The moral however is to split your logs as soon after they have been cut as possible when it is much easier and this axe will easily split large rounds up to 30-40cm if they are not too knotty but overall the X27 is better as it is lighter and less tiring to use so if you don't need the hammer is probably the better buy.

Impressive axe, perfect for the job
Logging felled ash trees. Superb axe. Goes through like butter. Heavy - don’t buy if you are looking for something lightweight. Super sharp edge. I did a lot of research and this is perfect for the job at hand.

proper weapon
didnt know if i did the right thing getting the biggest one, theres a smaller one thats 8 ib and another called a builders axe or something thats an 8 as well but to be honest its not that bad, its a reasonable lump like but just let it fall and itl split decent size logs like a foot deep and 3 foot round willow i got here, you mostly dont even have to swing it and bonus it doesnt get stuck, quick pat on the shaft and it pops out. no shock if you hit a knot either

Very good maul
Good heavy maul, I have 2 other Fiskars axes so I knew the quality would be great. Splits big knotty rings without problems. Very happy with it.

Consigliatissima !

Tut was sie soll - Holz spalten
