Brilliantly Simple and Easy to use Telephone
I have been using this telephone for just under a month, and it works perfectly fine. I recommend that if you're looking for a simple telephone, then you should choose this one.Its overall design is simple, sleak, stylish, and feels at home wherever you place it. It can be placed on a desk or table using the provided desktop plinth, or the plinth can be removed to allow for wall mounting (The screws and wall plugs needed are provided in the box). Not only that, but the overall build quality is great too. It's made of very durable and sturdy plastic, and doesn't feel flimsy, or prone to breaking at all. It's also pleasant to hold during a call, and the curly cord has plenty of length to it so you can comfortably make or take a call. All of the buttons are large, and easy enough to press, plus they are evenly spaced out, which is very important when you need to quickly dial a number. The telephone works out of the box, in that you just plug in and use it. It does not have fancy features, such as an answering machine, which means that it does not require any connection to a mains socket, and is soley powered by your telephone line. The cable used to connect it is of a decent length which will be more than enough for most people.Whilst it's a simple telephone, it does have some very desirable features which I personally find very handy and wish to point out:First of all The LED light. Not only does the telephone ring with an audible tone (of which there is a choice of three to pick from, using a switch on the rear), but it also flashes a small LED light at the top right-hand corner. This is handy if it's in a noisy environment, or if you wish to adjust the audible ringer (using another switch to adjust the volume from High, Low, or to Off), and just rely on the visual alert.Next, the memory buttons. This telephone features three programmable memory buttons, which can be used to store three numbers of your choice. Instructions for storing the numbers are kept on the back of the insert, that is provided for noting down the stored numbers for reference (placed below the handset). Also, the Secrecy button. It's a simple feature found on a fair few telephones, which allows you to switch off the microphone. This is for when you want to talk to someone beside you, without the person on the line hearing you. On this telephone, I like it, because it's a kind of toggle button. When you press it once, it performs the secrecy feature, then pressing it again turns it back off. I also like the LED light on the button, which lights up to let you know that it's active. Finally, the amplify button. This is useful, as it allows you to increase the volume that you hear from the speaker in the handset. Handy for those hard of hearing, or if you're in a noisy environment. Like the secrecy button, it's a toggle button (but without an LED light). Don't worry about it always being amplified, as the feature switches off the next time you pick up the handset. As this telephone is aimed towards not only home users, but small businesses too, it has features such as the ability to connect a headset (sold separately) for making/taking calls, and various switches on the rear to make it work with different internal telephone systems. (Both of which I have not tried myself, but might come in handy in the future). The telephone is packaged carefully, and protected in a cardbord box just the size to hold the telephone, which is fully assembled (can be dismantled, such as removing the curly cord from the handset, or the phone line cable from the telephone etc.). There is also a small and easy to understand instruction leaflet included, which tells you everything you need to know about the telephone.Overall, a very satisfying purchase.

BT Converse 2100 corded phone
The BT Converse 2100 corded white phone is a basic phone. It is corded, it is wall mountable and it worked straight out of the box when I plugged it into my home phone socket. I do not know how it works if used with a PBX or installation that requires tones instead of digital pulses. Are there any sites still around that need such an interface? I assume there are some. However, I am connected to the conventional BT PABX which uses the digital pulses. I needed a basic phone that would run off the PABX DC power so it would always be independent of the House Mains power. Very hard to contact the power company to advise them of a power cut if the power failure takes out the house, road, and the local mobile phone transmitter all at the same time. This has happened in my area several times. My old BT corded phone failed after 30 years so this was a replacement. The challenge was 'wall mounted' which was my requirement - not everyone will have that limitation. The base for use on a table unclips revealing 2 screw slots onto which the phone clips. Installing the screws (provided) is a small DIY task. The wall mounting is a bit fiddly but fairly easy. The phone has no add-ons as it has no external or internal power supply. However, it does have 3 buttons that can be programmed for dialling specific numbers. It also has a redial facility and will take an external headset which may be useful for some users. It does not have a screen so CLI or other such features are not available. As I said it is a very basic phone but it has a clear ring tone and the sound is also clear and a reasonable volume. I am pleased with it and am happy to recommend it to anyone in need of a phone which is independent of mains power. As an aside, I searched the Amazon site for Wall Mounted corded phone and the BT Big Button 200 phone came up in the search.Do not assume - check! That was the phone I started with but although it came up in the search, it is not wall mountable. If I had read the product description properly, I would have known that. Amazon refunded my money without question and my next choice was BT Converse 2100.

Easy To Use, Robust with Clear Buttons and Great Headset Capability
I needed a phone that I could attach a headset too, and also wanted a speaker/handsfree option. This machine does both. When it rings, you either pick up the handset to answer, press the big 'Handsfree' button or pop the headphones on and press 'headset'. There's no delay or cut off when you switch between these options either. Whilst the screen's not backlit, it's very clear and has adjustable contrast. I've had it as a desk phone and now mounted on a wall, both times the screen was clear. There is a choice of 3 ringtones and the volume is adjustable. There's also a T, P or PB setting on the back to help those with hearing impairments, also there's an 'amplify' button. It has 10 quick dial memory buttons plus an alphabetical 100 phone book spaces. Caller display shows the duration of the call which is really useful so you don't go over the hour. The speaker is about 5x3.5cm so you get good, adjustable, volume. The only downside that some may find is in the weight of the handset. It's quite chunky and heavy, similar probably to the old BT circular dial phones, but, for me, this is a plus as the handset stays on the hook and doesn't fall off like my other phone. It also has a molded mounting hook for the handset when used on the wall, rather than a button you have to swivel and which keeps falling off my other phone. You get the feeling this robust phone, with huge, chunky, obvious buttons, is here to last. I also bought a BT headset (Accord 20) to plug into this machine. The headset comes with an adapter so it's universal, but the adapter's not needed for this phone as the Accord 10 and 20 are made for BT Converse phones. This is the perfect machine if you want to type and take phone calls.

Adapter is not US comptatable!
The power adapter, (or plug), is for Europe, NOT North America. Phone will not work in the US.
