If it wasn't for bad luck, Dixie Ann Dikes would have no luck at all: The Midwestern high schooler is abducted and raped by the local football star, then ejected from her home by her blame-the-victim foster parents. Dixie decides to use her beauty as her passport out of misery, winning the Miss Colorado pageant. Things seem to get even better when she meets smooth operator Chuck Logan, who pressures her into secretly marrying him. What she doesn't know is that her new husband is an escaped con who paid the liquor store clerk for their wedding night champagne with a low blow and a backhand!A cautionary tale about what can happen to a girl who says "I do" before asking her man "What do YOU do?," Night of Evil stars Lisa Gaye (Face of Terror - 1962) as the jinxed Dixie and William Campbell (Dementia 13 - 1963) as the sadist who takes her from wedding ring to suffering. And according to on-camera narrator Earl Wilson (of syndicated showbiz column fame), it's all true, based on actual newspaper and court records. - Tom WeaverBonus content: Original Theatrical Trailer

night of evil
This movie was ok. I bought it mainly because it was made in the town I live in and when I was a young girl I had the pleasure of watching part of it being made. Great scenes of Gene Krupa at the Embers Supper Club. Fasinating to me.

Not a real deep plot. However, I'm of an age when anything with Lisa Gaye in it was wonderful. I was in my mid teens at the time and loved her.

1000 years old
Gosh, the movie is thousand years old black-and-white. They should have said it. It is not fair for Amazon not include year in the description of the movie. Looks like deception of the customer. Of course, technically there is no lie, but I personally didn't expect 1000 yo movie being offered without even mentioning it! It's not a big deal, but they owe me $2.

Ugh
Terrible movie! I purchased it as research of the main character. This has little or no reflection to the woman's life.

No Classic , but interesting nevertheless.
Filmed in 1960 , but not released until 1962 this movie parallels the more famous movie Town Without Pity. A good girl ( Lisa Gaye , numerous movies and TV appearances ) is raped by a pair of no-good-nicks. At this point they disappear from the film with nothing but a promise that they will be prosecuted. She is living with her step parents , step father is sympathetic , but step mother is outraged with shame and disowns her. Having no home she ends up in an institute. Later she catches the eye of a promoter who runs her in a state wide beauty pagent , which she wins. This is where things go wrong. A dashing young man ( William Campbell ) ( I remember him from a trucking TV series called Cannonball , also seen as the character Tremaine in the Star trek Episode ) courts her , and she is swept off her feet. She does not know he is a criminal , and with his relentless pressure agrees to marry him , even though it must be a secret , as it would disqualify her from the Miss America pagent . He gets busted , she is ruined , and her situation goes quickly downhill. Allegedly based on a true story , it is worth a look for the curious. Sort of campy / cult-ie , I could see it playing at midnight showings where the crowd acts it out like Rocky Horror. Interesting in an " it ain't no classic !" way. I should also add that while made in 1960 , it is in Glorious Black & White , not colour.
