My new favorite lens - perfect for portraits
The Fujifilm XF 56mm F1.2 R WR has quickly become my go-to lens. It delivers exceptional sharpness, even wide open at f/1.2, making it perfect for portraits with stunning background separation. The bokeh is buttery smooth. While a bit heavy, that’s a small trade-off for the build quality and weather resistance it offers. Autofocus is accurate, though not the fastest or quietest, but the overall image quality and color rendition make this lens a must-have for Fuji photographers.

Fantastic
A fantastic lens, well built, sharp, near perfection.Although initially concerned from reading other reviews, I did not find it to be large or heavy on my Fuji X-T5.Highly recommended.

Wow! What a lens! Incredible colors and sharpness wide open, just get it!
I am re-entering the Fujifilm X eco system with the recent introduction of the excellent X-H2S.I have to repurchase lenses to use with my X-H2S, this was one of the two. This is a portrait lens that would accompany my XF23mm 1.4 WR.Fujifilm had just recently redesigned their venerable 56 1.2R lens with a new model that had updated optics, motor and weather sealing - Fujinon XF56mmF1.2 R WR. It also has a lockable aperture ring. I decided to purchase it.The reviews on the updated lens are spot on. This lens is super sharp wide open at an aperture of 1.2. This is astonishing,It seems to have a flat field of focus wide open, with the edges of the frame being super sharp too.I was not expecting that. This can double as a landscape lens too!The background blur (bokeh) was really pleasing, making pictures taken wide open stand out!The focusing is very fast and silent. The X-H2S does a great job of stabilizing this lens at lower shutter speeds.I am glad I chose this lens to pair with the XF23mm F1.4 WR for my X-H2S.If you are thinking of a portrait lens for your Fujifim X-system, this lens masters that genre and more.A new masterpiece!Highly recommended!

Almost perfect
Build and image quality is astounding. All the hype is deserved. I love using this on my Fuji X-T5 with its 40 mpxls. This lens stands up to those demands. My only caveat is that when focusing from near to far, and the reverse, the lens hunts quite a bit before locking on, and the motor is a little loud. I don't do video, so that doesn't bother me, but for a thousand bucks, I would expect a quick focus whatever the conditions. After using it for 2 weeks now, I've decided to keep it purely for the image quality. If you don't need the weather sealing (WR), you might prefer the earlier version of this lens (R), whose price has dropped a third since the WR release.addendum: Been using this lens now for a few weeks and contunue to appreciate it. While the focus is still wonky when going from very close to approaching infinity, in regular use, I never noticed a problem simply because I rarely shoot from close to far and back very often. I still think this is a fault fuji should fix.
