Best string brand out there!
Daddario makes the best strings, hands down! I will never use another brand again! The feel of all their varieties of strings are just the best. Long life, great tone all around. Just smooth to the touch and responsive. Fits great on all types of guitar set ups, decent weight consider the string gauge you purchase!

Dependable great sounding strings.
These are stings I feel you're not supposed to like. Thing is, I keep coming back to them. They are everywhere and they are inexpensive compared to other comparable strings. They feel good, you know what they will sound like and about how long they will last for you. I am using the balanced tension 4 string set on my Spector LX4, they are fantastic. The strings I just bought here on Amazon are the XL170 5 string set for my Spector LX5. That bass is 35 scale and the normal "long scale" strings fit as they should. They are also great, but if I had one criticism it's the B and E string gauge. Most sets in this range are .105 for E and .125 or .130 for B. Here you get .100 for E and .130 for the B. It seems an odd jump and I suspect it has to do with keeping a tight sounding B while attempting to balance tension across the set. That's probably good on a 34 scale bass, but it would be cool to offer a more traditional .105 and .125 set if you have a 35 scale. In any case, it's not somthign that I'm conscious of when playing, just a bit of OCD and the B does rock at .130, but it also does for any strings I've tried at .125 on the 35 scale. Maybe something for 5 string similar to the balanced tension set offered for 4 string. That set has the E string at .107. That may pair pretty well with a .130 B.

These are the industry standard for a reason.
Great strings, I’ve been using this brand for 25 years and they always perform well.Solid construction with a brilliant tone that lasts a very long time. This balanced tension set has been a real benefit to the feel of my bass. Try them, you may never go back to the standard set.

D'Addarios Are All I Buy
My Go-to brand. Just like the feel and action of these strings and always have. I almost exclusively use D'Addarios on my other stringed weapons (electric and acoustic guitars, mandolin, mandocello). Consistent quality and the durability is always top notch once you get them broken in. I find I don't have to replace them very often, but that also depends on how much I play them. Even with heavy use, they hold up. At the price point, I can also replace them relatively inexpensively.

Very bright.
Very bright, good sounding strings. Maybe a little much string noise for my taste, but great sounding.

My acoustic bass sounds stunning with these. way better that bronze
I ordered a "damaged package" 5 string set for my electric bass BUT I was shipped a package that had a preinstalled Low B string. It was coiled on the end and i guess they don't know you cant reinstall strings twice or they snap. no two basses are alike. That being said the bottom 4 strings were new and the price i got was great so i kept them anyways and installed the bottom 4 strings on my acoustic bass. I usually use bronze strings but WOW these really brought it to life. 50-105 on an acoustic bass sounds great. nice projection, crisp punch yet nice lows. The acoustic bass even has a nice slap. I'm definitely happy with the results and I'm glad i kept them. You cant beat D'Addario, they rarely ever break. Besides bass, I use them on my electric guitars, classical guitars and acoustics as well. I play many many styles as a studio musician and they have never let me down.
