Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band's London Calling: Live In Hyde Park concert film is a two DVD set of the Boss and his band's performance at London's Hard Rock Calling Festival on June 28, 2009 in HD. The 172-minute film documents 27 tracks of live Springsteen that begin in daylight and progress through a gorgeous sunset into night. The set list spans from the Born To Run era to Working On a Dream and includes rare covers such as The Clash's "London Calling", Jimmy Cliff's "Trapped", The Young Rascals' "Good Lovin'", and Eddie Floyd's "Raise Your Hand". Springsteen also performs fan favorite "Hard Times (Come Again No More)", written by Stephen Foster in 1854. Brian Fallon from The Gaslight Anthem joins the band as a guest vocalist on Springsteen's own "No Surrender". Bonus material includes footage of "The River" from Glastonbury, June 27; and the full music video for "Wrecking Ball", filmed at New Jersey's Giants Stadium.

OMG!
Great service from order to delivery. Watched this DvD whilst experiencing toothache. Wow, the production was very good. I felt that I was there! Great performance by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. Many of the songs reminded me of the joy I experienced when I first heard them many years ago. For 3 hours I was not aware of my toothache! Highly recommend this DvD to all music lovers.

In A Word, Stunning.
Buried somewhere among the eight hundred Amazon customer reviews is a one star rating telling the readers that Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band barely raise a smile during this concert, are going through the motions, and Bruce should go back to basics.Given that this is one of the most powerful performances by one of the most musically connected and powerful live artists and his band to walk onto a stage, I can only assume that the reviewer in question was watching a different concert by a different act.As the sun goes down on Hyde Park, Bruce and his band deliver 27 songs in over two and a half hours of adrenaline fuelled raw power. From the blistering opener - a cover of The Clash's 'London Calling' to his most well known number - 'Dancing In The Dark', The E Street Band are a force of nature. The rhythm section of Max Weinberg and Gary Tallent doesn't miss a beat, with Nils Lofgren - the epitome of coolness in shades and headband - throwing out tremendously licks and solos. The late, great 'big man' Clarence Clemons gets a deafening roar of appreciation and admiration every time he puts his lips to the saxophone. There's the comradeship between Bruce and Little Steven - smiling, joking and bouncing guitar solos off each other. Then there's Bruce's interaction with the crowd - walking within touching distance and reaching over adoring outstretched hands to collect song titles on banners to take back up the steps to the stage ("Get me an elevator, I'm f*****g 60!") to perform the written requests.I've owned this DVD since it's release and I still get goosebumps during every viewing.A stunning concert.

Everlasting Heyday!
Having seen Bruce on 64 seperate concert occassions, I feel I am reasonably placed to offer comment on this concert footage.Well..........What can I say that has not been said about the man before? Not much I would imagine given the time that Bruce and the Band have been on the road. The concert is very well shot and edited, the Blue Ray image is superb on my 50" Plasma TV, the clarity is fantastic and the sound.......well the sound is rich and vibrant. When the curtains are closed and I play it through our surround system it really does create an almost being there atmosphere.I also thought that Gaslight Anthem's Brian Fallon did himself and Bruce no damage at all with his very comfortable performance dueting with Bruce on "No Surrender" from the 1984 Born in The USA Album. The band also require special mention as I honestly think they are getting better and better as age strolls upon them, Rock Band artistry at it's very bestI'll be picking up a couple of Gaslight Anthems albums through Amazon to fully "check em out".Do yourself a favour - Just buy this fantastic Disc - You will not be disappointed in any way.Until the next time BruceIt's just adios - not goodbye

BRUCE at HARD ROCK CALLING festival HYDE PARK,
Unbelievable how a repertoire can move an audience at a FESTIVAL.Unlike the NYC or BARCELONA concerts this DVD shows THE BOSS and the E STREET BAND in front of many non converted SPRINGSTEEN FANS,who by the second half of the gig are reacting to the fantastic NEW JERSEY FACTORY of hit after hit: BORN TO RUN, ROSALITA and GLORY DAYS are received as glorious hymns by the british crowd of newly converted.yet all the band work hard to persuade everybody at HYDE PARK to join the fun and have a big party. Its a thrill to have such an experience on DVD. THE sweat, the moves, the interaction with the audience, the screams of the singer, the brotherhood among musicians to make the best team work possible on stage, LITTLE STEVEN, Clarence Clemons,Nils Lofgren!! Its like watching an assembly unit WORKING ON A DREAM! AMAZING. On the extras a great TRIBUTE to the GIANTS STADIUM and a passionate performance at GLASTONBURY...! great way to see how you can still be converted to BRUCE in 2010!!!

Please take more care of the package !!!
First, I have to confirm that this is an excellent concert. No need to tell this. Bruce Springsteen is a really talented artist. But I have a remark concerning the package of this double dvd-set.Looks nice and original at first sight but the problem is :the moment you want to take a disc out of its sleeve, youare taking the risk of getting a minor scratch on this disc.It is very difficult to take out the discs from their sleeves withouthurting them. It's a pity. They never see that specific problem.

GREATEST LIVE ACT IN ROCK.
i have always believed queen were the greatest live band ever but springsteen and the e street band are really something else ,i only own 2 of his albums and they are not my most played either ,but seeing these guys on stage really blows me away ,this is the 3rd dvd i have bought of them since seeing them on tv in last years glastonbury .this concert was filmed the day after glastonbury ,how these 60yr old gets this much energy i don't know because its always a 3hr rockathon off these guys ,i think this dvd is even better than the first 2 i bought . A MUST BUY FOR ANY MUSIC FAN ,IT DOES NOT COME ANY BETTER I GUARENTEE. the only negative comment is the cardboard folder it comes in , i would much prefer a normal dvd case with a little booklet ,can't understand why they did this .
