Amazing
The Legendary Mr. Kachru
S**R
An Officer and A Gentleman
Humility and Agility is the story of an uncommon man's unparalleled success, in life, as a professional and as a human being who has touched so many lives around him only to make it better.Speaking from the "other side" I adored the man and everything he stood for. He was instrumental in creating a virtual meritocracy in a public sector enterprise, a fact which was unheard of 35 years ago and is probably still not achievable in many organisations. His own rapid growth and evident success inspired us all. He led, we gladly followed !! Isn't that the hallmark of a great leader ?When he took a decision to move on from ITDC, many of us felt bereft and a little lost. The important lesson for us here was to accept change and either adapt or change !To many, Mr Kachru is Radisson and all the Carlson brands that he fostered and brought to life in India and the Asia Pacific region at large. His narration of the journey is thrilling and makes for a very interesting read !Today, he is still actively involved with the industry he loves - doing what he has always done best - mentoring and nurturing !!To me this book is full of nostalgia and has a deep personal impact. I am certain, that others who perhaps have not personally interacted with him will also find much that is interesting and much to take away . All in all a good read - highly recommended!!
