Very good introduction to blacksmithing, this book may be next best thing to taking a blacksmithing course. It walks you through projects with good pictures and instruction on techniques you will use everyday blacksmithing.Lots of projects and tool plans in the back, plenty of ideas to keep you making thins for months or years.

Libro ben strutturato per un approccio pratico diretto. C'è una parte iniziale con consigli su sicurezza, allestimento del laboratorio, tecniche di battitura, tempra dell'acciaio e altro, ma la parte più consistente è fatta da progetti dettagliati, con fasi guidate e molte immagini. I progetti sono molto belli, ma se state cercando un libro fatto solo di progetti, non è questo. Comunque, il libro è più che consigliato

Well written with really good pictures. Good background information, particularly the section on safety, and description of basic techniques. The projects are presented well and there is something for beginning and intermediate smiths. I took this (and one other book) with me to a 6-day blacksmithing course (Forging Techniques) and the instructor and one other student ordered copies of both books after looking though them during breaks. For reference, the instructor has been smithing for over twenty years, since he was 14. He's trained under Tsur Sadan. renowned blacksmith from Israel, and completed ax-making training with Gransfors in Sweden. I consider his purchase of the book as a great recommendation.
