Fun photo project
I used this kit to make prints on cloth. This is my first try, and it turned out well! Just combine the 2 solutions (2.5 ml of each for two 5x7 pieces of thin white cotton), mix and paint onto the fabric. For large pieces of fabric you can dip it and wring it out. Allow it to dry completely in the dark (hang it with a clip). For the image, you need to convert it to a black and white image and then invert it (so it’s a negative image) and print it onto a transparency (that is laser printer or inject printer compatible). Trim it down to size (5x7) and put it on top of your dry cloth, place the acrylic sheet (from the kit) on top and then put it in a sunny spot for 20-30 mins. Rinse the cloth well and dry. You may need to adjust the developing time and the contrast/midtones of your image. You can also do this using paper for watercolor painting. The thicker paper holds up well. Adding a bit of hydrogen peroxide to the rinse also helps oxidize the print for a color a deeper color. The images look pretty amazing!

A great deal
This is some quality chemicals and you cannot beat the price. Make sure you read the directions on each bottle as to the amount of distilled water to add. It is different for each bottle. I like the results so far.

Great larger size
Wish I had found this earlier, as it seems it's the only larger sized cyanotype kit on here, besides outright buying a tub of the chemicals. I much prefer having it already set in a bottle like this though.

Okay but not the best
These chemicals were a bit more finicky than Jacquard for me but they worked okay.

Really works
My son wanted to try cyanotype and I just wanted to find an inexpensive kit to try out. We got some really good results on our first try! I had a large (16x20”) piece of glass and particle board type backing piece from a frame that broke. We used that as the base and then used glass to weight down the flower stems on the paper instead of the thin plastic they provided. That way we could do multiple prints at once. We also used card stock instead of the paper on the kit. But that being said, the chemicals worked great. I definitely recommend this product!

Fun Activity
This was a great activity to do with my younger daughters. The step-by-step instructions were easy to understand. The kit came with all of the materials needed (ink, brush, and paper).

Experimenting necessary
I had a lot of fun experimenting with materials and exposure times. A UV light was pretty necessary. Best results with paper, but I’m most excited about the fabric I printed. Highly recommend!
