Wow, the height increase is REAL!
Had my eye on these boots for a while but the price point, in my view, was way too high for a pair of shoes. Come on, we're in the middle of a cost of living crisis, food has risen sharply over the past few years, small businesses are being affected by produce cost-- It didn't feel right to fork out £164.99 for a pair of shoes when I can get some decent ones for under £100. So I waited and waited and waited, and eventually Prime Day came along, and these babies were reduced to £79.99. Immediately, they were mine.So in the box these were absolutely perfectly packed. Each shoe was in its own little bag, along with some fresh powder for the insoles if your feet tend to sweat a lot, a show horn, and I believe some extra insoles for comfort if you wanted them or needed them. Alongside that we get a booklet from the manufacturer of their products-- TallMenShoes which range from classy right down to casual footwear along with height increasing boots (or shoes, sneakers) like these. First thing about the boots I noticed was the quality, they do feel quality, well made, and effort has been put into them.Given this is a US-based company and I'm in the UK, the sizes were a bit harder to work around-- usually in the UK size I'm a 7, and that's just about a good fit which isn't too snug or too loose. It's perfect. One thing I noted when selecting these were the differences in EU and US sizes and also of course UK. EU size, I'm a 41. My UK boots state on the bottom they're a UK 7/EU 41. This puzzled me for these because the US equal is a 7.5 for a UK 7 but apparently they have the EU size at 40. Besides the size fiasco, the only pair on offer were the 7.5 UK size, which in US was a EU 41... I decided to go ahead with these, and I can confirm these were indeed the actual equal to a UK size 7. They were exactly the same as my original boots I wore. So for size, take note. Now onto the boots again, how do they feel? What is the height increase like? Well, it's weird. They are comfortable don't get me wrong and this is my first time wearing elevator shoes, I've been going around in them for over 1 day now. The height increase offered for these boots was accurate and spot on - they increased my height by 3.2 inches exactly, so they definitely were on point with the height increase. Now, from researching and advice from TallMenShoes if you've never worn this kind of footwear before, 3.2 inch is about the max you should go until you get used to the feeling and adjusted to the new height and I have to agree. So if you've never worn these kind of footwear before, do not go above 3.2 inches, it could potentially be dangerous for you due to adjusting to an extreme new height too soon and too sudden. I'm adjusting to it slowly, I wouldn't say it's perfect for me but I'm only wearing them little over 1 day. I'm getting used to it from never having worn boots like this before, it's strange, but also fascinating to see everything with a new perspective. Every step you take has to account for your new height, instead of your old height, and that can be tricky because your brain has been wired down to the last note to know every step and where your foot -should- land now lands somewhere different. But, like I said, they are comfortable and I am adjusting so it's not impossible --- I'm starting on day 2 now and I feel already a little bit more at ease with them. So my advice overall, if you decide you want to try height increasing boots, this brand is quite amazing for their products-- but go easy, start of low and adjust to them -- walk inside your house, even if it's just around meaningless walking to get used to them. They do have impact and I'm fairly certain that once I am adapted to wearing these I will be even happier with being 3.2 inches taller.Price point wise, I would not pay £164.99 for them even for the quality and the height increase, wait for a deal. TallManShoes, great product but please, your prices are way too high for them. Given I got them on a deal, and they're quality I'm going to give these a 5/5. Now if I had to pay full price, they would be a 4/5. Quality is there, but not merited for £164.99.Hope this helps somebody decide in the UK (or elsewhere!) about these boots.
