Tornado Stealth 1.15mm Pencil - VRP-1701

The thickness I liked; I must wish it came in something other than an HB.

Love this pencil!

A common complaint about this mechanical pencil is that the 1.15mm lead wobbles a little because of the slightly larger aperture at the end of the pencil. It is noticeable and annoying when in use. I just purchased 1.30mm and it fits this pencil much better. No noticeable wobble when drawing. I also noticed complaints about the black coating rubbing off. Indeed, if you are storing this pencil with other pens in a backpack or pen case, the black will start to come off. If you care about this I would recommend getting some sort of pen cover for when it's knocking around in you backpack, purse, etc.

Was sent in a brown paper envelope. No additional protective packaging. No additional lead. No instructions or re direct to order additional items for this product. For such a high quality product it deserves a more presentable delivery.

I have purchased quite a number of Retro 51 pens and pencils over the years. My favorite is the 1.15mm pencil. I like the thick lead and retro styling.

I like it a lot, it is definitely not a pencil that I would take detailed notes with, or try to cramp text into lines, but i do most of my calculations on blank copy paper and it's a good scrawling pencil, kinda like this never-ending run on sentence.Eraser is great too (actually why I got it), I recommend using a single drop of super glue because I lost my first one at some point in the first few days of owning it because I clip my pencil in my jean pocket and something slid by me and pulled it out. since I did that I have had no complaints!

What a cool pencil. He loves that its got a nice thick lead. I did good this christmas.

The Tornado Pencil is a great pencil aesthetically and function wise. I love the classy all black look and the design of the pencil. The 1.15mm is very nice to use and writes nicely. The mechanism seems to work wonderfully with my pencil. I also love the eraser because of the size and its effectiveness.The only gripe I have with this pencil is the tip. The hole in the tip of the pencil is nowhere near 1.15mm in diameter! This lets the lead wobble and shake and move around when writing. Very annoying. It also makes the pencil feel spongy rather than smooth. This makes the Tornado write OK for me and makes writing much less enjoyable.It's sad that such a nice pencil is ruined by one small thing. A properly sized tip would justify the price tag on this pencil.
