Decent lock with a few minor issues
This is a nice simple digital electronic lock. It feels sturdy and well-made. The outside assembly is all metal with a black finish. It is relatively unobtrusive once installed. According to the directions you can program up to 50 unique combinations though I can't imagine why anyone would need that many. It comes with a USB c plug so you can power it if the batteries fail - and you've lost the two keys that come with it I guess? I replaced an existing lock and reused my existing deadbolt throw assembly since it was black (the one that comes with the kit is chrome - why?). The kit does come with a paper template if you need to drill holes for a new door. It also comes with all the hardware you need - except batteries. At $50 this is a good value and I recommend if you can get past the 3 issues below.Getting it installed on my door took some trial and error - issue number one. The directions are ok, but not great. While I am an avid diy-er and I've installed traditional door hardware before, this is the first time I have ever installed an electronic lock. I found the directions somewhat vague and they didn't list all the steps to get the lock installed. For instance, the lock comes fully assembled in the box and the directions don't tell you that you have to take it apart to a degree to actually install it (take the backing plates off the outside and inside trim). The pictures associated with the directions are more helpful than the printed text and I did figure it out eventually. The lock is handed - you flip a tiny switch based on which way your door swings and what way the hardware goes. The picture was (maybe) backward for this step. I assembled the lock based on my interpretation of the picture and the lock didn't work. Took it apart, flipped the switch, reassembled and it worked fine. Little things like that meant it took me way longer to install than it should have. All in it probably took me about half an hour not including programming.Programming similarly took some trial and error, again because the directions are vague - issue number 2. Programming requires two steps. First you have to change the master code, then you can change the user codes. The master code is required to set up all the individual user codes. So really you need to remember 2 unique codes. A bit cumbersome. Also as others have mentioned, to factory reset back to the default code of 1234 you just press a paperclip onto the bottom hole on the inside. That could be a security issue if this was being used at say an air bnb property. And finally, for issue number 3 - the configuration of the buttons is a bit counterintuitive. It is not set up like a phone keypad with 4 rows of 3 buttons - something everyone is familiar with. This setup is 3 rows of 4, which means the 0 is next to the 6. The lock and unlock buttons are next to the 3 and 9 respectively and are the same size and shape as all the others. It takes a minute to get used to the setup.

Seems pretty good
I ordered this for my main entry door but I decided to use it on my garage entry door to the house it was ok to install instructions for me were a little confusing but that’s just me, it’s a little confusing how to program it but it works and I’ll be testing it and see if I find any flaws, so far it’s ok and not expensive, made ok

Can't change the codes remotely
I bought two with the understanding that I could change the codes remotely, but it seems you have to be on the same WiFi--not over the internet. Waste of money for me.

Simple but works as intended
This is a straightforward keypad lock for people who just wants a simple smart lock keypad. You can program up to 50 access codes. I used it for my garage back door and had someone install it for me as it looks complicated for me to do it myself. It works out well and so far no complaints. I’m starting to change my locks to a smart keypad so this is a good starter keypad for newbies like me.

Good Options
So install wasn't as straight forward as expected. We have keyless locks on other doors and were able to install those easier than this one. The instructions are not descriptive enough. Luckily, we already knew how to install so didn't need too much assistance. This lock has so many features to choose from. I like being able to control it from a distance, but unfortunately it does not allow for a wifi hookup. Where this lock shines is the ability to create individual codes for access. Can even create a one time use code too. The multiple options really makes using this lock very convenient.

Keyless Entry Door Lock is a nice Upgrade
The HOTATA Keyless Entry Door Lock with Keypad is a nice upgrade to the old locks we have on our door. The black matte matches all my doorknobs in the house. This door lock was easy to install after watching the video on YouTube. The paper instructions that were provided gave a QR code to scan to see the video. I would say do not rely on your previous knowledge to install because you may have to take it off and do it again. Only thing I am still trying to figure out is how to use the keypad. The QR code for that is not working when I scan it. For now, I am still using the keys. I would still purchase this product because it is way cheaper than getting it through a surveillance company that would charge double the amount.

So far so good
Easy to install and setup. Had a little trouble at first with locking and unlocking but that was on me as I didn't adjust the lock orientation switch

Stopped working
A month after installing, the lock started emitting a ‘low battery power’ beep. New brand-name batteries were swapped out three times with no luck. I contacted the company and described the fault who, in turn, advised me to re-program the lock. This also failed to remedy the issue. After further communication with the company, they said the lock will be replaced.UPDATE: It has been well over a month since my last email exchange with the company and no replacement has been sent. Am looking at other products now.

Don’t buy disappointed product
I did read the reviews before purchasing but I though it was a few one offs for bad reviewThe product looked like it had been opened before, it was a pain to install and then programming it?? Ya right… instructions terrible ended up returningYou shouldn’t have to spend 1.5 hours installing a smart lock - returnedPrice point was good but better to pay more and get a better product and save installation timeDisappointing

Not Thrilled
It seems to take multiple tries to unlock, too often. The two step process is annoying. I have a different keypad lock from another brand on another door, you just key in the numbers, and the door opens. With this one, you have to key in the number then press Unlock, or is it press Unlock then key in the number? or do you press unlock, then key in the number, then press unlock again? See what I mean? For people who are busy, rushing, distracted or a newbie/friend you've left instructions with, it can take several tries. And then comes the anxiety of "Am I going to get in?" or "Have I got the right number"If I were buying again, which I will, I would get a simpler one. The other one I have was double the price, but never had an issue. No unlock button. Just key in the number and it should unlock. So, I do not recommend this product.

It works some of the time.
It worked alright in the beginning but now it just doesn’t open sometimes and I have to use another door or get someone to open the door for me. Disappointing because it’s past the return date. I recommend you pay a bit more to get a quality product.
