Humble Bee410 Polycotton Beekeeping Suit with Round Veil

The zippers are strong and good quality. The material feels cheaper, but I haven't had any stings yet so I guess it's working. I gave this suit a 4/5 for "value for money" because I think you'd be better off to "buy once; cry once," getting a 3-layer ventilated suit. They appear to have better protection and are way more breathable.

I tried to save on a far less expensive suit which turned out to be garbage. This is my second purchase and this suit has been worn daily for several months now and has been perfect. High quality materials and craftmanship.

Good quality and attention to detail like large brass zippers. Do order one size up. I am 6'1 and 185pounds and an XL is a very good fit. Will it be hot if the temperatures are hot? Yes, but still manageable. Maybe the only thing I do not care for: the veil is a bit more difficult to see through than some veils. Small thing, though.

This Bee Suit seems well thought out and I was able to use a weed Wacker around and in-between, about 10 hives of bees without getting stung. Yes, I did get the suit dirty, however that should have minimal to no impact on usability unless you physically damage the suit. With the additional purchase of bee gloves and water boots even the ones that took an interest in flying around my head could not get to me. Please note however, if the mesh is in contact with your skin in the head area of the suit that means bees can come into contact and inevitable sting you so use some degree of caution. The round veil is actually detachable move both zippers to the front facing left or rear facing right to then slowly lift off the veil. This will then give you the ability to machine wash the suit and hand wash the veil after each use or as necessary. Remember this item does not come with gloves to adequate bee gloves are necessary unless your ok with a few hand stings and pepper shoe attire to protect your feet. I have moved away from the hive with a bee stuck to the side of the suit so it may also be possible to get stung through it however the aggressive honey bees I deal with have not stung me as of yet with the bee suite, gloves and water boots.

I've had to buy several types of Bee-suits from different vendors. None of the sizes were correct. I'm 5 ft, 10 inches and 176 pounds, so not too tall and not overweight as such. So I first bought a Large . . . proved not to be large, so I gave it to my teenage daughter and bought an XL. Better but not big enoughI! So I finally decided to buy an expensive one from HumbleBee, and to buy an XXL one. I was afraid of overkill, but believe it or not - I normally wear medium clothes, but this XXL one just fit. If I bend over it grabs the crouch uncomfortably. It seems I really need an XXXL one for a medium sized body!!!! I figure it must be made in "China" where people are short and stalky - so a Chinese XXXL one is really a medium.It's disappointing, but I'll keep it since it's too much work sending it back . . . and they don't have a larger one.One other disappointment as well is that the Cover for the head has netting all around. I prefer netting at the front only - with the back covered with canvas so the bees never have a chance to sting (I deal with the African Bee- very aggressive). The netting is flimsy and folds easily, very easily, and so it touches your back neck. I guess I'll now have to stitch on a canvas in that section, or to use cardboard at the back of my neck.

I am a novice and was clumsy when handling frames. This suit will save you…not one sting

I love this bee suit due to the weight of the fabric and excellent construction. It will work very well for me.

The suit fits perfect and provided excellent protection. I ordered the goat skin gloves also, and they worked great.But…. After only wearing the suit 4 times, it appears the wire around the hood has come undone. See pics. The last nest removal I noticed that the mesh kept touching my face which was unnerving since it was a bald face hornet nest. I am trying to figure out how to contact someone about the product warranty.

I bought this as a protection against mosquitoes in the spring. Works very well. Black flies can get through the head mesh, but a spritz of repellent on the net prevents their entry. I have a complaint about the ability to order a specific size on Amazon, as their suits are not selectable according to size as other sellers' items usually are. I found and bought one size larger than what I suspected I needed, and was happy with the more roomy result. As suspected, the suit is understandably warm in warm weather. It is not as cool as they suggest.

Dräkten kom idag och passar bra. Inte kanske för de varmaste sommardagarna men trevligt med lite kraftigare tyg. Skulle kolla om tyget krymper vid tvätt - ingen uppgift om det, men ser då att bara handtvätt rekommenderas. Vad tror dem egentligen?!

Excellent for wasps

Excellent bee keeping suit. I purchased it to deal with a wasp problem in a tight spot. I was able to walk up to it and deal with live hive comfortably and safely (with proper gloves and spray in hand of course). Wish that this came with at least a pair of budget/generic gauntlet gloves for better value but ended having to purchase it separately.I would recommend this if you want deal with wasps comfortably and safely. It allows you to get up close and not have to worry. The suit is well sealed when zipped/fasten up. If it works with wasps I’m sure it work just as well with bees.Just a couple notes. First, I used thicker gloves with non elastic gauntlet so I did tape it up along with my pant cuff for extra layer of security. Second, order a size or two larger than you need. It does fit small like all other reviews. The extra fabric from the larger size is a benefit too as it creates a larger barrier/airspace between your skin and the suit. Lastly, do wear a heavier shirt and jeans underneath as backup…don’t go commando ;)
