Fantastic for dollhouse inspiration!
I adore this book! It’s actual reprints from the 1800s which is super cool and therefore 100% authentic Victorian. The images are super clear and there are so, so many examples for every architectural detail you can think of. I am definitely going to use this as inspiration for crafting my Victorian dollhouse. Highly highly recommend

Information
Love this book. Great for reference

It is a reproduction of an architectural detail book from 1873 that is all pictures.
Excellent source for Victorian era wood working designs. I have a Folk Victorian home with all the charm remodeled out of it and was looking for source materials for things like window/door moldings to eventually replace all the goofball woodwork. There are also house plans which are interesting too look at. If you had a Victorian style home it would be a great resource. Goodish for Folk Victorian as these homes weren't as big or elaborate.

Beautiful book
Great ideas for trimming out my dollhouse. The drawings are beautiful. Little misleading to say 700 designs. Most items have multiple pictures of different angles of the same window or door, ect. There aren't nearly that many separate ideas.

Nice eye candy for the amateur architectural historian but not educational.
If you are buying this book to learn more about the architecture of the day you will not receive much by way of education. For example, page 10 is labeled Designs for Windows and has very clear drawings of 18 different styles of windows. However, there are no explanations or terms for the details. These pictures are from original plates. They were used when people were designing or choosing their new business building or home; in other words, pages of a catalogue. Some of the pages have full views of the outsides of the buildings and homes which are lovely to look at but again, no real explanations. Later in the book there are a few more identifying comments but for the most part nothing educational. It has some very nice eye candy for the amateur architectural historian. NOTE: this site says it has 80 pages but this includes the inside of the cover, etc. There are 75 total plates.

Great for US - Not for UK
I'm really disappointed. I was so looking forward to receiving this book to get an insight into original Victorian detailing, 700 of them actually. This is a great book and if live stateside it's even useful but for the UK it's nothing but nice to look at. Still, as can be expected, the drawings are beautiful but still.
