Fierce Vow: A Dark Mafia Second Chance Romance (Kozlov Empire Book 3)

OMG! Leo and Aly are 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥! HIGHLY recommend this series!
If you are looking for engaging, well-written stories, with thoughtful characters, 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 intimate scenes with dominant antiheroes and feisty women that are willing to do whatever is necessary to protect (or get vengeance) for those they love, all set against a backdrop of mafia (including Bravas and cartels), then I highly recommend this series by Monica Kanye. While this could be read as a stand-alone, I personally DO NOT consider it to be. There are multiple reoccurring characters, common themes and references to previous events that cannot be adequately recapped within another story. Therefore, I highly recommend that these be read in order, including the free prologue and bonus epilogues from the author.** If you have not read this story, the following may contain spoilers **⛔️ The SERIES contains scenes and/or references to subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to sensitive readers. These include: adult language; derogatory terms; detailed adult intimate scenes with dominance, submission, spanking for pleasure, exhibitionism, voyeurism, consensual degradation and rough play, ‘special’ surprise for her pleasure 🥰, etc.; violence stereotypical of the genre including assault, fighting, attempted sexual assault, threats, coercion, theft, kidnapping, gambling and cheating at a casino (not between the MMC or FMC), murder, torture, etc.Just like I have stated multiple times, I love a dark romance series especially when the stories are interconnected in multiple ways. It can be hard to find a series that engages me, keeps me thinking about it, or looking forward to the next story before I even finish the current one! This is one of those series for me.I ❤️ me some Leo! He is an OTT dominant alpha, but he knows how to be soft when needed for Aly. I haven’t had a book boyfriend in a long time, but he is a very memorable character … to say the least! That being said, Aly is just the right female for him. Strong, feisty, vulnerable enough to bring out his protective instincts, shy at times and others she is fearless,Monica Kayne again took the time to build the characters and the environment, which brought everything to life. She continues to weave originality and humor into the storyline, which can be difficult in any genre, much less one as popular as mafia stories.I love the addition of dialogue in Russian, especially since they are sprinkled throughout, not overused, and most contain the translations. There were a couple that caused me to disengage from the story because there wasn’t a translation included. Then for some reason they wouldn’t translate through my Kindle app, so I had to go out to the internet to find out the meanings. None of this was difficult, it just caused me to disconnect and then have to take the time to get back into it.I am a ‘visual’ reader, meaning that I visualize a story as I read it. Most authors do not add enough character, location, etc. descriptions, or they include so much minutiae that the story drags. Monica does a wonderful job providing just the right amount imo, and she did this throughout the story, further refining the picture I had of the characters, while still maintaining a good pace. 👏👏👏I did find a few grammatical issues, but not many when considering the length of the story. The majority involved punctuation (missing commas, missing spaces between sentences and after some of the ellipsis (??ellipsi??), interrobangs, etc.). There was incorrect formatting in regards to possessive words ending in ‘s’. There was also incorrect word tense, word choice, and capitalization errors. There are also a couple of areas where I had questions concerning the material included (I.e. while recalling an argument with his father, Leo included details about his mother’s affair that hadn’t been known then, as well as an inconsistency in regards to number of years since someone died). Most issues I documented, but there were some I did not in regards to missed commas. I uploaded my notes to goodreads for anyone interested.

good
This is the first book I read by this author and I really liked it. At first I wasn’t sure if I was going to finish it because up to maybe 40% of the book it seemed slow for me as in I was looking for more “mafia” in it. Passing 50% of the book its when I saw that it really picked up and I loved the second half more than the beginning. Im actually looking forward to the next book because I was left intrigued by the unexpected arrangement at the end of the book. Its a good read, recommend it.

Oh, Leo!!! <3
Honestly, my new favorite book quote in here. I mean, I cringe when people aren't direct (even book characters), it would save so much drama! Lol. I'm just enjoying the whole series and while he doesn't say everything right, I'd let him talk it all to me! Whew

Aly & Leo
⭐️: 3.5/5🌶: 3/5Fierce Vow is book 3 of the Kozlov Empire series. This book follows Alyona & Leo's story. It is a second chance romance. I was actually looking forward to reading this book but it fell short of my expectations. It was weird because I loved books 1 & 2 in the series. It took me a little bit to get through reading this book. It was super slow burn, for me. It was a good story and the main characters finally got their HEA. I am going to be honest that the highlight of the book for me was the introduction of Maxim.

Enjoyed
I enjoyed this book a lot. My only issue with it is that the author kept misspelling the word “whiskey” as “whisky.”

We all need a Leo
Fierce Vows was exactly what I needed after the weekend I had. It's filled with everything you cannot help but love. A loyal from a distance ex who still does anything to protect his girl. A girl who has no qualms about defending herself and being the total badass she is.By page 3 I was hooked and by page 42 I was crying even though there was nothing to yet fully cry over. My heart just broke for these two and while to some extinct I could predict generally what took place I couldn't put this down. If it wasn't for the medication I take making me drowsy I would have stayed up all night to finish it.The spice, oh boo yes yes yes! I'm here for it all.

love it!
I love Leo and Leona's story. These two were terrific together. I love everything; the sadness and the smut in this book have made it to perfection.I enjoyed reading this author so much, and I can't wait for Kira's book.

Leo and a second chance
Leo is not sure about a second chance but he goes into protective mode when he find out Ali sent for a clean up crew. The secrets gradually unfold while he is protecting Ali, if everyone had stated the known fact’s conclusions could have been made sooner And Ali wouldn’t have felt so abandoned.great book 3 by Monica Kanye

Mafia + modernising = second chance romance
*I will caveat this review by stating second chance romance is not one of my favourite tropes!*I enjoyed reading about Alyona and Leo, but I always find second chance romance a little predictable - there always seems to be some form of miscommunication/non communication trope involved; with this being a mafia series, there was also a 95+% chance that there would he a link to family obligation or dictation by a leader involved too. That being said, I'm enjoyingTye Kozlov Empire series and Monicas writing style and spice level.I know how much these stories interlink, so there was no way that I was going to skip this onez and I'm so glad I didn't because book 4 - Kira seems like it is going to have fireworks! No spoilers, just going to leave it at that!
