Works great, is simple, no batteries to buy.

bought this one for travel work, it works, it is not as smooth as my more expensive caliper. but I get measurements without dragging my more expensive one around.

Great tool for the money.

First of all, it's a top quality caliper. My other one is electronic and I picked this one up as a backup. Too bad I can't use it. No instructions included, even under the foam. I'll have to do a google search to figure it out I guess.

I've been using tools for precise measurements for half a century, yup, I'm an old timer. This purchase was for a grandson that is interested in machining and is taking "shop" in high school. I thought he would appreciate having his own tools to use when working with the lathe or milling machine. Unfortunately, the caliper I received was so poorly made, I couldn't give them to my grandson as a birthday gift. The bevels jaws were not machined properly, the rack gear didn't operate smoothly, and there was a lot of "slop". I returned the caliper and ended up giving him my personal tool set. As it turned out, I think he enjoyed the thought of "inheriting" Grandpa's tools and they are without a doubt, much better quality that this purchase from Amazon.

It seems to be acurate but the sliding action is rough and gritty.
