Stronger than the Struggle: Uncomplicating Your Spiritual Battle

When I love a book-it is always because of the way the author kept me there by the way they put thief ideas together. I was only recently introduced to Havilahs work, and this was my first of her books. I could read her writing over and over-currently waiting on the next one- I highly recommend her work!!!!

I am a serial book purchaser. My problem has always been finishing anything that's non fiction. I have a multitude of amazing books by equally amazing Christian authors that I have with all good intentions started but never been able to finish. Part of me has thought that there are too many self help Christian books out there and if I need self help I should be spending my time reading the bible.I actually had no plans to buy the book I was simply going to do the video studies for the book club and benefit that way. Then she began speaking about what the book was about in a preview message and I was hooked. I have dealt with spiritual warfare, dreams visions and so many things at night.I have always felt a bit isolated and struggled with a lot of it because it's hard for people to understand or help me interpret so mostly I would keep it to myself. She talked about how the enemy uses that for his purposes keeping us isolated anxious and depressed. This struck a huge deep chord with me.For the first time it was like she was articulating something deep inside. She finally nailed what I had been trying for years to pinpoint myself. I feel better equipped not only to handle the way I deal and encounter my spiritual battle, but also how to better hear from the Holy Spirit in a tangible way each day. And not from some mystical perspective but with the evidence from the bible and seeking scripture daily.I feel like this is a launching pad for what Jesus is going to do in my life in a more tangible way than ever before. I know that He is preparing me and this only helped me to feel better equipped. It was huge to me how she talked about not serving man, not being the person to pray for everyone when other leaders are around, and recognizing in her shortcomings how Christ used her because she did it afraid. I know that is where I'm headed and I'm so grateful. It was like listening to a really good message but on paper. I'm excited to begin the book club tomorrow because I know I'll be reminded of the core points of the book and can continue to grow personally in my spiritual walk. It felt like she was a mentor and walking me through so much.For some who haven't or don't understand spiritual warfare I encourage you to read the entire book. It's hard sometimes for those who have grown up in a more conservative environment where maybe these things werent discussed to truly grasp everything but hold on I promise It will be worth it. I got this book last week on Tuesday and finished today!

From her podcasts to her Truth to Table ministry, Havilah has the gift of bringing something complicated down to its roots and uncomplicating it for those who need a little guidance. In “Stronger than the Struggle,” she explains what spiritual warfare is, how to identify it, and how to conquer it. She makes it easy for this warfare-understanding newbie to decipher my thoughts by unpacking spiritual warfare (and letting me know I’m not insane), and helps me gain understanding of the tools God has equipped us ALL with to defeat the enemy.I’m not quite finished with the book, but already, it’s life changing. Whatever this year holds for me and my family, I am able to better tackle the attacks of the one trying to stop me from gettin’ stuff done. If you are in the middle of a battle that you don’t fully understand or feel you’re losing, then do yourself a life-changing favor and BUY THIS BOOK. Stronger than the Struggle is all about spiritual warfare and our spiritual authority through Jesus Christ.I haven’t followed Havilah for very long. I heard her speak at a Bethel Music Night in October and was touched by her gift of teaching and her testimony. When I got home, I quickly subscribed to her podcast and checked out her website, TruthtoTable.com. That’s how I found her Prophetic Personalities course, which I’m taking now.Spiritual warfare was a new concept for me 3 years ago. I’ve pieced together information for myself, but it’s a hard topic to grasp and can be confusing and complex.This book really changed that for me. Learning from her about the spiritual authority we have, and seeing how she brings the topic “down to earth” helped give me the confidence I needed.I have had the privilege of reading an advance copy of Stronger than the Struggle and highly recommend it. There is a lot of prophetic wisdom in it, and she has such a great style and sense of humor.

I devoured this book and will continue to read and reread it. It is practical. It is wise. It is chock full of “one liner’s” that will hit you where it hurts but in a good way! It is real life Christianity at it’s finest and I challenge you to not be transformed by it.

Excellent teaching and I would highly recommend this book. It will help you to navigate the whole issue of Spiritual warfare. It will encourage you to keep pressing on in your walk with Christ and to know you can overcome in life and live the life that God has promised you
