Home Again [DVD]

The simple fact that this movie "promotes" divorce and "getting back out there" to be "used" for sex at 40 years old, is sickening. Throwing in complete strangers with your children? How in the world could anyone find this movie entertaining or beautiful? Bottom line, if you enjoy movies that glorify divorce and a broken home, then this movie is for you. Let's not kid ourselves here... the "so-called" ridiculous happy ending would not be the case in real life. What's real, is that if you were Reese Witherspoon, your children would be completely screwed up and you would be severely depressed. People destroy themselves and their children because they worship their "feelings", and how they think their lives should be.

I definitely agree with the viewers who said it had a Hallmark movie feel. I always love Reese Witherspoon and Candace Bergen, but there was something really uneven about this movie. Don't get me wrong...I love a good rom com, but the first half definitely was theater quality, and the second half was more of a made-for-TV movie feel.One thing I have to give the movie credit for was pairing a 40-year-old woman with a younger guy. At first it seemed unrealistic to have these 20somethings fighting over her (and I say that as someone who was single until almost 40 and did date plenty of younger guys). But then I realized part of the reason I felt this was is that we don't see it in movies enough. It is always a Clooney type with a woman two decades younger and no one bats an eye. So hats off to that.I think in the end it was a great premise, but the execution just didn't feel fresh or unique enough for me to love it.

I love Reese Witherspoon, but I don't know what she was thinking when she agreed to do this movie. The acting is awful. The script is awful. The filming is awful. The plot is ridiculous. This is something for Lifetime or Hallmark, not the big screen.

Very cute movie. I am a romantic comedy fiend - from the black and white classics, through all of Meg Ryan's, Sandra Bullock's, and naturally, also Reese Witherspoon's. (While you Were Sleeping is probably my idea of the perfect romantic comedy- just so you know here I am coming from) This movie is one of the good ones but not one of the best. The cast was excellent. The setting was perfect. The situations were believable. The story line is a little bit light, compared to some other movies, but you do leave the movie feeling good. If you are choosing to stream this movie at night, because you can't sleep, it is an excellent choice.

I love Reese Witherspoon and have seen all of her movies. To be honest, when I saw the previews for "Home Again" I was not that impressed. It looked like cookie-cutter fair so I delayed in watching it. True, the movie is far fetched and doesn't seem like something that could likely happen, except in movies, yet I was taken in by Reese and everyone else in the movie. Well acted, fun, and a good escape for a boring Friday evening.

Reese Witherspoon is a compelling, likeable screen presence. All the characters seem very real, if a little Hollywood. It's not a "great movie" but I enjoyed every minute thanks to all the great actors. It's nice to see a movie with a 40 year old woman as the protagonist that isn't a caricature.

Nice way to pass an evening. Is it Oscar worthy? Nope. Is it fun with some drivel? Yup. Wish I would have had 3 fabulous men staying in my guest house to help me thru my separation. (:

Well, it was cute, and all the actors were cute. The kids in the movie were cute. All the friends were cute. The ex-husband was cute. The house was REALLY cute.But the story was strange. I got the feeling that the writer of the screenplay has lived among the oddball world of actors, artists, musicians, writers, dancers and other disconnected folks who populate the southern California "Hollywood" scene and have lost touch with what normal life is for most people. Even stranger is that the actors are playing this straight - like they aren't aware that most people don't actually live like this. To be honest, I find it just a little bit frightening that so many folks gave this flick good reviews! 😱The plot was strange - without direction and without an actual resolution at the end. It was played as if it were a classic "happy ending", but I wasn't satisfied at all and didn't think the ending was happy by any stretch of the imagination.It might be interesting to some people, but this weird tale was boring and flat to me. I didn't care about the characters, I didn't care what happened, and at the end, I didn't really care that there was no resolution.

Big fan of Reese Witherspoon but this is a pleasant but very average movie.

Watched this online and liked hence why I purchased DVD. Looking forward to watching it one evening.

Definitely worth watching if you are a fan of Reese Witherspoon and/or like light hearted, rom coms.

An estranged 40 year old wife, meets up with 3 guys in their twenties, who move in with her.... well you can imagine what happens!

Disappointing film, i expected better, i watched it with the help of fast forward. I gave the film to a charity shop last week.
