This is a nice heavy duty, cat litter, box scooper, and works great although it’s a little smaller than I thought it would be.

Weird to "love" a pooper-scooper, but I do this one. Several years, countless cats, multiple types of scoops. I'd always relied on the typical plastic ones-from the cheap $2 ones to the $15 ones. While they all did okay sifting litter, I kept encountering two problems; 1: the plastic handle would often break or bend while scooping a particularly large or gummed-to-the-bottom clump. 2: living in high humidity, urine soaked litter would gum up on the bottom of the box and the plastic scoops didn't have a sharp enough edge to scrape off the gummed mess. This scoop is sturdy! I've had it 5 months. The mesh sifts better than the slots on plastic scoops, leaving less tiny turds in the box. The scoop is sturdy and the metal doesn't bend or break while scooping and scraping. The metal edge is perfect for scraping gummed up messes and the handle is easy to grasp and very sturdy. I've 7 cats, so box cleaning can be quite the chore. This scoop has made it a bit easier and quicker!

I volunteer at a cat rescue and purchased this just to catch the small broken smaller remnants in the litter. I’d scoop with a plastic litter lifter scoop first (by the way the best scooper). Then I would try to catch the broken pieces with this strainer scoop. Not good. The strainer holes are too large to catch those smaller pieces. There’s no way you could use this as a primary scoop because the basket is not very strong and it would be very difficult to clean and likely to rust. It wasn’t helpful at all.

This gets all the chunks out of my cats crystal litter box. It may not get the tiny ones but it gets all the poop and large pee areas without any issues.

The way it was shipped, it ended up bent. We had to straighten it out. The mesh is not very good quality. Other than that it does work better than the other kind of scoops. I foster kittens and their little poopers are tiny and it works real good on them.

I needed a scoop that had a smaller mesh basket as I use a really fine sand like cat litter this one fit the bill easy to clean easy to sterilize, and does the job getting all the little bits out of the litter
