My expectations were blown away by this journal, I think it is an excellent price for the quality I received. The leather cover is beautiful, take care not to spill water on the leather to avoid discoloration like I did. Either way, the journal is still stunning!Before buying this journal, I was worried about the thickness of the paper. The paper ended up being one of my favorite things about the journal. The paper is thick, absorbent, and has a nice feel to it. I was able to use ink, watercolor, and gouche without any bleeding. Alcohol markers will bleed through the page, so be aware of that.The mechanism to keep the journal closed is beautiful, but it can be quite annoying unraveling and wrapping up the journal again. When the journal is open, you just have a long strand of leather dangling off the table or bunched up. The way the journal has been bound is quite weird, I'm not a fan of it. The book binding is broken up into multiple small segments which leads to some gaps at the spine of the journal. However, I don't think this affects the useability of the journal and the pages feel very secure.Overall, this journal is stunning and the quality of the paper is great. There are some minor issues, but the price is really good for the quality product I received.

I know it's not necessary to have some sort of like witchy and looking book whenever you're making a grim wire, but this little notebook is the cutest thing ever ever. It has really soft leather in pages and it's just really cute overall with like the key as you know, I just really love the design and the texture in the material. I think it's a really great thing to write with.

This is a great notebook actually my third ine. Each last for a year if daily Journaling. Very soft leather binding. Easy to open amd close.

Soft and supple leather, this journal is beautiful. The paper is not too absorbent, I'm using sharpie s-gel pens and no bleed through. I like the rough texture of the paper, it gives the journal an old feel.

The is a beautifully made journal. I really like the deckle edge paper on which I can use any kind of media. The only problem I encountered was the smell of the leather. It was very intense and bad. The company responded that it was not a chemical and that if I put it in the sun the odor would fade. I did that and the odor remarkably diminished after some time. I would have given 5 stars had not the odor been present. I wonder why the company doesn’t sunbath these journals before selling?

This journal is really amazing. I don't have anything negative to say about it. The entire thing is beautiful. I use it as a journal but it really is more suitable to be a spell book. The pages are really thick so the ink doesn't bleed through to the other side.

This is the real deal. Heavy rugged leather and thick paper give it a very old feel. Using it to keep track of rune work. It’s perfect. Very pleased.

I’m not usually surprised at an Amazon purchase but this item is a very pleasant surprise. If you found an old trunk, not opened for centuries, In rural Europe you’d probably find a book that looks much like this. It looks and feels handmade (a good thing) with a nice leather cover and I love the rough yellowed pages. Get a nice fountain pen or even a quill and ink well and you’ll feel like it’s the 1600s when you write in it. There’s a key but no lock. The key serves as a simple hook to keep it closed when the attached leather strap is wound around it.If you’re looking for a journal, diary or a witchy spell book, you can’t beath this little gem.
