Was not able to attach this metal adapter, but was able to attach similar plastic one.

Best filter adapter yet. Plastic-made adapters are always cracking on me. TURN ON the camera FIRST to extend lens. Find a way to STABILIZE the lens and BE VERY CAREFUL so the zoom tracking will not MISS-TRACK (will auto reset itself by turning it OFF and ON). MAKE SURE the adapter is SITTING CORRECTLY and FLAT on the lens barrel before turning it CLOCKWISE. It will REALLY be tight when you start turning, but IT WILL TURN -once you go over the 'hump'. Turn until it stops. Notice the adapter will SNAP IN its place and will have a slight play on the mount once seated (hence, 4 stars).

At first I ordered the plastic version of this item and it held up for about 6 months. I am glade i ordered the plastic first because I learned how important it is to get a quality piece after I got familiar to my camera. After the plastic adapter broke and I was more comfortable using my camera and the different lens I ordered, the metal version turned out great and so far it's been nearly 1 year with absolutely no issues taking it off to clean or to change different lens.

I found by turning the camera on and extending the telephoto lens helped with the installation. While I do agree the ring was a little hard to install (I was worried I might damage the lens by turning the adaptor so hard) it did go on much easier with the lens extended and griping the lens.

I ordered one of these filter adapters for my new Cannon SX60, unfortunately the adapter would not fit on the camera. I ordered a metal adapter as I take filters on and off a lot. I noticed that previous reviewers had had the same problem with the adapter not fitting. I was hoping that the problem was fixed; however, that was not the case for me. Thankfully I was able to return the adapter for a full refund.

At my time of purchase there was a single one-star review, complaining about it being difficult to install, impossible to remove, and marred the plastic on the lens barrel. Attempting to install on an SX50 HS, I got as far as the 'difficult to install' bit, found that the damage to the lens body had already begun, and stopped there. The ring is marked SX0/SX50, packaging SX60 SX50 SX40, and part number LFADC67A. I don't think it was mis-packaged, just a poor product.First purchase of a Bower product, likely my last.

After some effort I was able to mount this in the lens of my Canon SX60 camera. It works as it should to mount a rubber lens hood.

After cracking 2 plastic adapters, I figured that I'd try this metal one. Fits snug and works great.
