Great beginner starter seeds!
Ordered these despite the mixed reviews.I started my seeds on paper towels in small snack size ziplock bags and set them under my tank light. Turned the light on in the morning 7am and off in the evening 7pm. Yes I understand tanks should only get 8hrs of light but keep in mind these set on top of the tank blocks a ton of light so it didn't create any excessive alge overgrowth.I have a small rimless 2 gallon tank with 1 betta.Tip: YouTube is your friend, even if it's not the exact plant you are growing.Quickest growing: tall grass seedsSemi quick growing: small leaf grassSlow/having trouble growing: medium grassThe tall grass sprouts in 4 days.Small leaf grass 7-10 daysShort grass 2 weeksI currently only have the leaf grass and the tall grass planted as the short grass didn't sprout.During the aquascaping process I decided to smear small leaf grass over the wood log in the tank to see if the seeds will cultivate under water. (I have not tried this with long or medium grass)Anyway so far I'm honestly not upset with the progress of the seeds themselves for the price you pay. I'd rather grow my own for pennies on the 1$ than pay 10$ a plant from the store. If you look below, you will see the newly planted grass in the back. Along with the log covered in semi grown small leaf grass and some of the small leaf grass seeds. šI'm not giving up on growing the medium grass, I just need to change the approach. Also I do advise getting a small spray bottle and some aquarium plant fertilizer. It seemed to help them grow at a super fast rate. Same with the plants that I stick in there, roots from nodes in 4 days.(Side note yes I know my Betty's fins are short. He had fin rott when I fell ill and couldn't clean the tank. He is growing it back slowly but surely)Update*****I added 3 more photos to my review. I am still keeping my review as a 5 star. Here is why:I've germinated these seeds as you can see in my tank and outside in an greenhouse tank. Both sprayed with fertilizer. While the tank that has only moisture and fertilizer in it the growth is still a bit slower than the ones in my actual tank. See photo 1 then 2. It's a 4 day difference of when the seeds went in to now. I have way more seed growth under water (even though the company highly suggests its more unsuccessful that way.) I have to disagree and my tanks support the opposite. Now I have not tried to grow the medium grass under water just yet that's a next aquascape day. I only have 2 gallons to work with so I have to keep that in mind as well.Anyway I love the seeds and I am still quite impressed with my experimenting.I 100% know fertilizer helps them a TON with greenhousing them! Faster more successful results.I may be doing this all wrong but hey so far my tank isn't brown and my fish are still alive!

Great growth on Leaf Grass!
The Leafy seeds did awesome! At first I had too much water in the substrate and it slowed the Leafy grass down. Once wet, they produce a protective gel that is kinda sticky to itself. After a few days I sucked some of the water out with a large jello shot syringe 𤣠and put my plant lights on them. The Short hair grass did not come up as thick as I wanted because the seeds sunk into the substrate when I first sprayed them with water a water bottle. (It, unknowingly, was not set to MIST.š¤¦āāļø) I did try to add a few more but didn't know exactly how well it would work. The substrate is a little big for the Dwarf Hair grass. They fall in all the cracks. I did not try the Long Hair grass in the tank right away. I am trying to grow it separately so I can use a soft & long tweezer to add it in spots I want once it is better established. I am trying to do the same with the Short Hair grass to fill in the sparse spots . I HOPE IT WORKS!!š otherwise I am just wasting seeds. I also used a Lamp to keep the temperature warm and humid. Definitely need to cover with cellophane and a heat resistant Glass lid so the cellophane does not melt & the moisture stays in like a rainforest. Once the plants were established well (day 8), I put water in the tank. I filled it from the back filter to not disturb the still growing seeds. I waited only a day to put Fishy in because I am impatient.š¤·āāļø He is doing well and loves his new environment away from the mean fish that were picking on his tail. He is very happy!! NOTE: this was my 1st attempt at a planted tank! I am pleased with how it turned out and would buy these seeds again and the price was more than acceptable. I would like the option for some other colors though. The tank is a 3gal I bought on Amazon as well. Maryland Contour 3gal tank. I have yet to put the whole set up in its proper place in my home. I wanted it close to my plant lights while it was starting out and will move it soon. Over all I am pleased.

Honesty is the best policyā¦please donāt waste your money like I did!
Shipping was fast.Seeds were slow to start. Took around 2 weeks before the tall grass started sprouting and 3 days later the tiny leaf grass sprouted. But the dwarf hair grass never sprouted(1 tiny seed started and then stopped after 3 days). All were given same conditions, temp and mists of water. These pictures are from today. At the 3.5 week mark. I did both planted seeds in the tank before the fish in my large tank and small containers and then transplanting in the other smaller 2 tanks. I was really looking forward to the dwarf hair grass. So just know, it doesnāt grow. But the other two have done great.UPDATE: I planted all the grown grasses from the small containers in my tanks (4 different ones, all planted tanks) and all the tall grasses have died, including the ones seeded before the water went in the tanks, and the dwarf grass still hasnāt grown.UPDATE #2: Everything died. In all my tanks. Tried the leftover seeds in planted aquarium substrate and filling tank as well as growing in containers and misting. Thinking maybe I did something wrong. But They all died. Again. Such a waste of time and money.

Nice Grass!
Update: 9/5. Ultimately changing review to three out of five stars hereās why: The tall grass is no good. It died off doesnāt appear to thrive in an aquarium. The small āgrassā is also starting to thin and itās kind of a pain and clogs up the filter all the time. The medium grass, however, seems to be doing well and has really started growing. It stays in the substrate just fine. Added a new photo too.Update: 7/29 the tall grass all got super thin and was dying so I pulled it out. The medium grass is starting to grow up a little though! (New photo added, and yes itās time for a water change.) 4 stars now hahaI read mixed reviews on these but I seem to be having decent luck.I started the seeds right on the wet sand, misted a few times a day, kept the light on and waited. The big grass seed germinated within 24-36 hours, little brown ball seeds took about a week to start and I didnāt try the dwarf grass. The little ball seeds were just barely germinated when I added water.Tank has been full of water for about a week now and all still seems to be well. (5/17/24) Will update of anything changes š

Beautiful, but hit or miss
When these grow they're very beautiful and they grow super quickly and have good strong roots. I've planted them in 4 containers, a Sistema Food Storage Box, an old 5 gallon aquarium, a small 1 gallon aquarium and an old cherry juice bottle for various experiments, sadly only the Sistema box and 5 gallon aquarium have worked thus far.All tanks had the same mix of sand, potting soil, and vermiculite that I mixed myself, the seeds were all rolled in Bonide Rooting Powder and then sprinkled on top of their sand mix, I then gently added water with a syringe until the sand was almost moist enough for the seeds to float, sprayed them with a mister then I put Saran Wrap over the tops of all tanks and put them on their heating pads (all the same brand) under growing lights (also the same brand and brightness), I sprayed them gently with spring water 2-3x daily. For some reason my 2 smaller containers only grew about 6 Tiny Leaf each and no Hairgrass while the big containers flourished within days. The lighter/brighter pic is after just 5 days in the Sistema container and the murkier pic is about a month of growth in the 5 gallon aquarium. I'm not sure what is going wrong with the smaller tanks, the failing 1 gallon is actually sharing the same heater and light with the flourishing 5 gallon, thermometers on the side read the same temps.
