Good grass seed but not inexpensive
This is good grass seed for the wet, cool winters and dry, hot summers in Seattle. Summers in Seattle can go for 80 days without significant rain but winters we see week after week of rain and gray skies. This mix handles both well

Very satisfied.
I used this on a new piece of lawn in the PNW with very shady and very sunny sections. The soil is clay with a thin cover of topsoil. I covered the seeds with a very sparse amount of topsoil and watered every day. The seeds sprouted within a week, and the grass has become quite thick after 4-8 weeks. I'm very satisfied.

Think it needs more sun
I believe it needs more sun then I get in Oregon with all the trees. Their aggressive growing Sun or Shade mix is amazing though. Just try your best to get it in the dirt and you'll be golden.

this one worked best! The grass grows really fast and thick
I have been removing English ivy on a steep hillside, so naturally I needed to control erosion with ground cover.I tried multiple products, various clovers and wildflower mixes, this one worked best! The grass grows really fast and thick, it is ascetically pleasing dark green color, and it does not go brown during the summer. It is also extremely drought tolerant, and can grow in poor/dense soil. I randomly sprinkled some in the compacted soil between my house and the neighbors, this place gets less than 3 hours of direct sunlight/no regular water, the grass grew! You do have to reseed and water if you want a thick mat of grass though. It seems like the negative reviews for this product come from people that expect to seed one time without regular water and have a beautiful grass mat in 2 weeks. I wish plants worked that way, but they don't.

Worked on some areas
Seeds were spreaded throughout the area with care and as per instructions. However got grass with several bare patches as you can see. It seems that seeds are a hit or miss. Noticed that the seeds were inconsistent in their quality and the coating was also missing. I also noticed a lable with germination percentage which was not advertised in the product page. May have to try again but so far not impressed.

Good Grass Seed for Northwest
I live in Vancouver, BC, winter is cold and summer is hot. I reseeded some of the bare spots in my lawn with this product. I planted the seed at the end of September this year, after 8 days, I can see seeds start to germinate, and two weeks later, grow about 1.5 inches tall. I'm very happy about the product.

With a little preparation this seed does the job
I see this seed has a pretty low overall rating and I suspect it's due to lack of prepping the area and providing sufficient water. I have used this several times to patch areas damaged by the neighborhood dogs doing their business on my front lawn. Clean up the area by removing the dead grass first. Place the seed and applying a light covering of planting soil has worked the best for me. Ensure you provide sufficient water during the day to keep the area moist - this has given me consistent results. I tried just spreading the seed over larger areas (overseeding) but haven't had quite the same experience. I will continue to buy this seed when the need comes up.

Scott's Guarantee is False Advertising
I purchased seed, food, and a spreader and followed the instructions exactly, including dirt, raking, daily watering, etc. I was supposed to have sprouts within 3 weeks. When I didn't, I reached out to Scott's who told me to wait longer and gave me more instructions to follow, including a year's worth of instructions for watering, fertilizing, etc for each season. So, I followed those instructions exactly, using only Scott's products for another year. Still, the lawn is mostly weeds that appear to be flourishing. Then, Scott's said I waited too long and the guarantee does not apply because a year had passed. I did everything they told me to do and asked them to honor their word and they refused and were kinda rude about it. This is why people don't follow instructions anymore, it's all a set up for failure.
