I’ve been using this retractable baby gate for a few weeks now, and I am thoroughly impressed! It’s super easy to install and comes with paper you can tape to the walls and screw over, so no measuring and leveling!! It doesn’t take up much space when retracted, making it perfect for our open-concept home. The gate feels sturdy and secure, which gives me peace of mind while my toddler and baby are exploring. The retractable feature is convenient for quick access, and I love that it blends in with our decor. Highly recommend for parents looking for a functional yet discreet safety solution!

I have owned a lot of different types of dog gates. From the really expensive iron gates with an easy walk thru door to the simple wooden tension mounted gates and various plastic gates in between. What I love about this gate is that it’s retractable and mounted to the inside of the doorway so when it is retracted you never see it from the other side of the room. It is super easy to pull close and retract. Our door opening is 60" wide for 2 sliding barn doors and it fits the opening just perfectly. That is the max opening for this gate. I just give the knob on top a turn to release it and then pull it open or retract it closed. I can do it with one hand. You do not have to have your hand on the knob to open or close the gate the entire time as some reviews have stated. I don't think they read the operating instructions. With a 60" wide doorway that would be impossible. The installation was really easy. It comes with a template for the left and the right side of the doorway with an outline of the hardware drawn on the template so you know which piece goes on which side and the orientation. They couldn't make it any easier. It also includes spacers to accommodate your wall trim at the floor. Super happy with this purchase and it keeps my dogs securely in their room. The last expensive metal gate with swinging door that we had, my dachshund figured out how to press the mechanism at the bottom of the door to unlock the gate and get out. Nothing on this one for him to unlock. Great purchase. Seems well made but no rating for durability yet as I have only had it a month.Update: 5 mos later - gate is holding up well. But my dogs (20 lb) daschund mixes have figure out they can go under the gate and escape. The vinyl is not completely taught when expanded out and latched to the other side of the doorway. There is just enough play where they can lift up the material with their noses and squeeze under. Ugh. Once again another dog gate foiled by my two escape artists. A bigger dog would probably not be able to do this. I really love this gate and wanted it to work because it looks nice and retracts out of site when not in use.

My wife is insane over my Shepsky wanting to spend time with her in the kitchen to verify she was making food to his liking. Due to the fact the opening between the kitchen to the living room is a 71" transition this limited my options to close it off and keep me from deciding which of them was leaving.Since the door guy at Home Depot refused to sell me the aisle fence mounted to each and every end of every row in the store (seriously "Randy", how many of these do you need?), I went with this item. Ordered on Sunday, arrived on Wednesday after a holiday .So far (after two hours, three arrows lost on my new bow and about 3 drinks), here is what I have:Installation: fairly easy, although the screw holes on the paper guides included with the product did not line up, I did not bother with checking the height/lengths of the paper and just threw it out. I used a light pencil mark for pre-drill holes and balanced the unit to where it was about 1.25 inches off of the ground uniformly across.Easy to use: As noted in other reviews and I believe in the QA section, you cannot extend the roll if the safety lock is not disengaged. I can reach the 70"' transition, however my wife cannot. Easily solved. Once I had it mounted, I took a small rivet round, drilled a hole in the knob/surrounding housing (do NOT go deeper into the mechanism) and use the rivet as a lock pin. I also drilled a similar locked position to set the pin when it is not being used to hold the feeder open. Problem solved.value for money: other comparable items that would work for the wide transition were either too gaudy or too expensive. This worked fine for me. So long as you are barely handy with a drill it will work fine for you.Edit: 8 months later this is still holding up great. I leave my lockpin in place all the time so that it can be easily one hand opened by the wife. the Shepsky is larger now, he has jumped up on it attempting to cross into forbidden territory when he feels the need to share his food opinions. As it is perpetually in the ‘unlocked’ position; all this has done is collapes the gate in on itself with no damage and springs back to it’s original shape once the wife...calmly explains...to him that he should turn back.still very worthwhile purchase. satisfied.Edit: 8/13/22 this divider is still going strong with some slight discolorations of the other dogs dragging their bodies against it while my Shepsky tells them not to bother. (he knows I'll get him food so no need to upset the snapperhead in the kitchen). Certainly worth the price, function and ease of use. I almost changed the rating to 5 stars, then remembers the modification I had to make to create a pin lock for it (see above).

The baby gate functions very well. It appears to be sturdy enough to hold a baby, a toddler, and/or a dog back. The locking, unlocking, and one handed unlocking features are well designed.However, it may need extra support to attach to the walls. For example, the stud in my downstairs doorway is right next to the metal door frame, too close to easily maneuver the gate. I tried using the plastic spacers and drywall anchors provided to offset the distance from the baseboard, but the drywall/plastic spacers felt very unstable and felt like it would pull out with time/any sustained pressure.Accordingly, I cut three wood pieces from a board and anchored them to the studs and screwed the baby gate to the wood pieces, which made a very solid support structure, while spacing the baby gate away from the base board.

This product was not hard to install and seemed to work effectively until our Labrador puppy grew a little bigger and found she could run and jump over the top. After 2 or 3 times she tore the fabric from the spool and we had to revert to a more solid barrier gate. Too bad. I liked that it retracts out of the way when needed and was not very noticeable. Overall product quality and price was good, however.

It's a good quality retractable gate and fits 1.8 m entrance/openings. All fittings are top quality and instructions are comprehensive. They have taken care of fixing inside and outside doorway and also provided for the floor having skirting. I purchased for a door way that is about 0.9 m wide and fixed it in another opening that is 1.8 m.It works very well and serves the purpose. I was not sure of how it will fare with year old twins, but it serves well.Installation takes some work if you are not accustomed to drilling/DIY stuff.The skirting we had is granite, luckily I consulted a neighbour who advised against drilling in granite with home use drills. Installed it just above the 10-11 cm skirting.
