I'm a beginner lathe wannabe. I read dozens of reviews and a good of those reviews number TRASHED Vevor lathes. Lots of complaints about the need to work on the lathe to obtain maximum accuracy. YES, right out of the crate will give you an accuracy measured in tenths(!).I finally ordered Vevor and KNEW I'd have to mess with it to get the advertised maximum accuracy and make numerous adjustments to this mass produced ~200 pound hunk of Chinese metal. No problem. Good thing I experienced in tearing down and rebuilding car engines. I have many talents and skills and tools as far as machines are concerned.So I spent several days FINE TUNING this thing. Now it's working well (but I'm not fully familiar with metal lathe operations). I'm getting closer to reliable thousandths.MY POINT: The thing was shipped around the world and got knocked around during shipment. How can anybody expect a 200 pound chunk metal to be accurate to thousandths right out if the box?? YOU MUST SPEND HOURS WITH IT TO TUNE IT UP! PLUS? we have hundreds off guys on the net who are very willing to offer helpful advice if you were to come up against a problem that resists your DIY skills.Vevor. They make thousands of these machines so I trusted them to send me (us) a product which definitely has the POTENTIAL to be very accurate AFTER the new buyer spends hours tuning it.

I received the lathe 2 business day's ago (5 actual day) and immediately contacted them to note several missing items so far nothing not even a confirmation email. Though when you submit the email it says that they will contact you in 24hrs. I will gladly update if I hear something from them.***update***As of 10/06/24 I now have all the items that I should have and then some. It did take some back and forth, I attribute the extended time and email's mostly through them trying to work through a language barrier than a reluctance to make good on getting the missing parts to me. That said still haven't got use it yet due to my busy schedule.

the electric motor burnt up within 10 hours of work using the machine. The base was pretty straight though and didnt require much adjustment

This machine is not ready to use out of the box. You’ll need to replace the tooling post with a better one because it does not adjust up and down. The gear ratios instructions are unclear and contradicts itself with what is on the gear housing plate so I don’t know which gears will give me what thread pitch. For the price, I expected a lot more.

super quality, fast delivery, it came in a wooden crate when was the last time you saw that,a super machine, don't fool around if you need a mini precision lathe, this is the one , thanks John

I had been looking at mini lathes for some time when this one became available for a substantial discount so I decided to buy it. Honestly, I don’t know how they can produce these things at this price. It arrived on time and mostly in tact, some of the tooling was loose in the crate and suffered from it, and the chip shield was bent, nothing I couldn’t get past.The machine itself is well made and functioning as it should. I immediately made modifications to accommodate a quick change tool post which only showed the quality of the build of this machine and now I have repeatable ability for tooling setup. This machine is built for hobbyists and DIYers but the specific design adds functionality beyond that. I absolutely recommend this tool for anyone looking to get into machine work.
