Q: For half sizes is it recommended to go up or down in size?

For half sizes if you go up then it will not fit inside your shoe and if you go down then it will not serve it's purpose because your foot and the insert is not lined up properly.

I would go with your shoe size, they are able to be customized, with scissors. I feel a 6 would be too short.

Q: Will the Low arch version of theses work well with flat feet?

I can only answer that I have HIGH arches and I ordered the HIGH arch version. I am sure they have low arch (flat feet?) version. I am really happy with the high arch version as it spreads my weight over the whole foot. They are very comfortable for me.

Q: Which of these would you recommend for football cleats?

I would use the Icebug Fat if you need more cushion an what ever arch support you need, Low Medium or High. I personally use Icebug Fat Medium in all my sport shoes this allows me to wear a thinner sock.
