Exciting cookbook!
I love this book! I got a Dutch Oven and needed a book with lots of one pot meals and stews and this does this trick. Lasagne Soup, Beef Stroganoff, white chicken chili are a few really good Rex just to get you started but there’s so many to try. Thumbs up from me for this one!

No lack of useful recipes
Honestly, I’ve been borrowing this book from the library and am nearing my renewal limit. I’m usually not keen on recipes from publications like BH&G or BC (don’t ask why) but this one has been a pleasant surprise. I’ve made a good handful of these recipes and have been pleased with all but one that we’ve tried so far. Family has enjoyed the recipes. The dishes have been simple to make and usually call for ingredients I tend to already have on hand, and even if not, they’re not so far reaching that I can’t easily find them at the store when I happen to remember. I usually add a little more in terms of spices/herbs just because some of the recipes tend to be bland, but those are easy fixes. If anything, what’s been appealing for us is that a lot of these are just simple twists on recipes that I’ve been making for years. I think it’s time I go ahead and just purchase myself a copy; I know it’ll be worthwhile for me (I try to avoid having a gazillion recipe books that I end up not using)!

Very nice recipes with an emphasis on convenience.
I checked this book out of my library and liked it so much I came here to buy a copy to keep. The recipes are pretty straightforward, with time saving methods like using pre-made frozen meatballs instead of preparing your own meatballs and using canned cannellini beans instead of dried. If it is haute cuisine you are looking for, this is not the recipe book for you. The simplified cassoulet, the osso buco and the tagine chicken were all excellent. The color photos of nearly every dish really make this book stand out.The aguadito de pollo (peruvian chicken soup) tasted pretty like my Mom's chicken soup, but they added quinoa, so I guess that makes it Peruvian. :-)With a lot of very good, easy to make recipes and a few ok ones this book is one that I will use as much as my Silver Spoon recipe book, which has been my favorite until now.

A must-buy for great home meals
I have a library copy (sorry Amazon) and have tried several recipes so far. They were all delicious! Simple instructions and appealing photos for every dish inspire the home cook in me. With many other recipes bookmarked to make next, I plan to buy my own copy! This one is a keeper.
