Wooden Bull - Leather and Cork Audiophile Turntable Mat - Classic Black

So I was a little sceptical about how much influence that a platter mat could make on the sound so I watched a tonne of videos. There were arguments for and against both cork and leather so decided to go for this hybrid and boy am I glad I did.Does it reduce static? I’m not really sure. The mat I got with the turntable was felt and to be fair didn’t cause static issues. However, it’s certainly not coming off with the records and it’s certainly not worse.Does it look good? Absolutely, it looks really cool in a subdued kind of professional but purposeful way. It feels really well made as well. It’s exactly the same thickness as my previous platter may so no arm levelling issues.Does it improve sound? Without a doubt, the bass has certainly become more punchy and the whole sound feels fuller ie it has more guts but doesn’t lose that classic vinyl clarity. This I feelIs the biggest benefit of the mat.I’m using it on an Audio Technica AT-LPX120USB with an upgraded cartridge (VMN40ML) and phono box Pre amp (as opposed to the on board Pre amp) and I really think this helps extract the best out of this turntable and these components. I have played probably 20-25 records on this mat so far.Although it may seem a little expensive for a platter mat I really think it was money well spent as it has enhanced my enjoyment of my vinyl records even more which is what it’s all about really.

I've only ever used rubber and felt turntable mats but was prompted into looking for an alternative due to issues with static. After doing a bit research, I came across this leather and cork product and decided to give it a go and I have to say I've been impressed with the results.The static issues have largely disappeared and there has been a noticeable improvement in playback, which has been true for older and new records alike. The leather surface seems to provide a much more solid and settled platter, providing good grip to the record without any fear of damage to records. As a previous reviewer put it, it's a lovely surface to put your records on.The mat looks great with the combination of cork base and good quality leather upper surface. There were no blemishes, marks or other defects on either material and it's a well put together product. The centre hole size was ideal for my turntable spindle and fit snugly around it. The whole thing just looks great!The seller shipped the mat off promptly and I received it within a few days. It came within its own outer record sleeve, and then again within a 'Wooden Bull' branded mailer, ensuring a flat and undamaged mat. The seller contacted me to advise when it had been posted and hoped I enjoyed it.I'm well impressed with all aspects and am very glad I made the change to my turntable mat. I thoroughly recommend you give this a try too.

Not recommended, the mat are too light, and will not lay flat on your turntable. Very disappointed. Bad quality

Vary well made works well.in my opinion vary good stops the static build up .Makes the record play better.

Expensive and has little if even worse effect on static especially for the bold claims given.
