Urban fantasy series
Grave Visions is book four of the Alex Craft urban fantasy series. To get the best out of this series I would recommend reading the books in order.Alex is a Grave Witch who can raise shades. She is employed by the police to help them find answers from the dead.In this story people are dying after strange hallucinations, ones which their own bodies seem to be fueling.Meanwhile Alex is fading, by refusing to link to Faerie and a heritage she is trying to keep secret.Another enjoyable adventure, with plenty of questions left unanswered about Alex, which lead into the next book

Fantastic and worth the wait
It was with much anticipation and a lot of impatience that I finally managed to get a copy of this book, and it was so worth the wait. Please don't give up on this series as Grave Visions proves to be just as good and just as worth the wait. So, two days of sitting with this and digesting it I can draw the conclusions that this book was a down right awesome read, as per the standard of the series so far. The plot and characters are just as solid and likeable/enjoyable as the previous books. It was well written and flowed nicely on from the previous books so it didn't feel as if there had been a massive wait. My only complaint is that the gargoyle from the previous books (Fred) was strangely absent from this book. Other than that (and the long wait) I was glad to have read this book. It was up to the usual standard of the author and kept me gripped within it's pages. I genuinely struggled to put this book down.

Another fun instalment!
The plot thickens!Alex's fae heritage is fully manifesting and she's paying the price: She's beginning to fade.Alex needs to affiliate herself with one of the fae courts by joining or being declared independent or she will die.Naturally, the annoying Winter Queen is determined to ensure Alex belongs to her and will use everything at her disposal to ensure it happens. To make matters worse, a fae drug called Glitter is wreaking havoc in the mortal world and Alex has to solve the case as a condition of getting her independent status - and staying out of the Winter Queen's clutches!I really enjoy the world-building in this series. I really like Alex as a character and where the series seems to be heading. There are just so many questions I need answering! All in all, Grave Visions was an interesting and entertaining instalment in the series with plenty of snark, action and plot development. I just wish there was a little more resolution on some of those plot points... But it's coming! I can see it coming!

Hugely Enjoyable
Every now and then a series grabs you and won't let go and despite the fact that it's been a while since the last book, I had no trouble picking up the world or these wonderful characters and it was worth every second of the wait and the read. Poor Alex has such a complicated life and I still don't know what she's really going to do about it all, but whatever happens I'll be along for the ride. Both Falin and Death appear and feature, however both still seem unattainable as real, ever after relationship material. Both are wonderfully complex and out of reach, however Alex herself is so fascinating that it doesn't seem to matter what her love life is up to as she holds your attention all the way. The story is as ever frightening and I never know what is going to happen next. The Winter Court features heavily and we see a slightly more damaged side to the Queen and Faerie itself, and despite the fact that Alex is fading we see her more in control of powers and self. I am hoping that in future books Alex will gain more ideas about herself and have a firmer idea of where she wants to be in terms of Faerie and her love life! Hugely enjoyable.

Thank you.
I'd had this on my 'to buy' since he third one came out, in paperback. But it never seemed to be in stock. Then I realised I could but for my kindle woohoo!I love this series. Alex is a brilliant character who you root for to be allowed to have independent status from ALL courts as I'm not fond of any of them lol.Falin I'm just not sure of. I believe he loves her, but the Winter Queen has too much hold on him.Now Death, he's another one who loves her. But will him loving her be his end?And being betrothed from birth? After waiting s long I'm off to the next one NOW lol.

Part of me loved it and part of me was annoyed
After waiting a lifetime - so it felt - for this book I was desperate to read it. Part of me loved it and part of me was annoyed. Lots of questions raised that were not answered, Alex seems to be dithering about things which does not gel with the kick ass chick at the beginning of the series. The Falin/Death set up needs resolving soon as to be brutally honest - getting a bit bored with it. I felt this installment was a "filler" book of the series setting up the next book. I will buy the next book, but hope there is a return to form of the earlier books

Good read
I read the previous books in this series quite a few years ago but they were physical books i.e. paperback. So was a little unsure if a kindle addition would be worth buying due to some kindle books being very short and not being proof read properly. There are a few errors along the way but did not effect the book which in itself was a good continuation of the storyline and a very good read.

A long time in coming but an enjoyable read.
I really enjoyed this book even though it was a while in coming. Hopefully book 5 won't take as long to publish. Ryese is being a bad boy in this book and only Alex and Falin can stop him. A drug called Glitter is causing havoc and people are dying. Alex also finds out she is fading and needs a stronger tie to Faerie which only the Winter Queen can help her with. The story is the weakest of the 4 books in this series but it is still an enjoyable read. Recommended.

love it
I love this series. This series is different then some of the others as Alex is a different kind of witch. She is not your normal witch as she has unique abilities that enable her to do things differently but she also has a complicated past which she is learning about and how to deal with. Once you start reading this book, it will be very hard to put down. Once you are done it, you will be wanting to start the next one to see what trouble finds her and her friends next. This is a must read, there is no doubt about it.

Tolle Fortsetzung!!!

The series is still as good as I remembered
Note: this is the very long anticipated 4th installment of the „Alex Craft“ Urban Fantasy series and really not a good place to start reading. If you're new to the series, I recommend to start with “Grave Witch”.ReviewI'm still amazed this book was finally released. After all those years, I didn't count on it in any way. But hey, it's here and it's good. It took me awhile to get back into the world of the fae grave witch Alex Craft who lives in the fictitious city of Nekros, somewhere in nowadays US, where fae and magic are a part of common life, even if the actual courts are in faerie and can only be accessed through amaranthe tree portals [that in Nekros is situated in the bar “Bloom”]. And yes, I needed some time to remember the characters, their relationships and the overall situation Alex is in at the start of “Grave Visions”. But I made it and it was worth picking my brain. The situation is as follows: Alex still hasn't chosen a fae court [let's be honest: the courts are weird in a bad way and being subject to one of the rulers sucks] and now she has to realize that being without ties to faerie will make her fade. And faster than everybody thought [well, she herself didn't know about that possibility at all]. So to avoid both fading and pledging herself to one of the courts, she needs to strike a deal with the winter queen to get a respite. And since there are attempts to undermine the queen's rule by some unknown culprit, Alex gets her deal. She has to find the perpetrator for the queen. Oh and to not make things too easy, Alex also is dragged into a case in Nekros where humans taking a new drug from faerie get killed by their nightmares having come true.Alex spends more time in faerie than in prior books and I like it. She becomes fae more and more, although she still has no idea how to cast even minor spells or use her special snowflake superpower “planeweaving”. I would really like for Alex to become more capable and competent. Don't get me wrong, I still like her a lot, I would just appreciate it, if she were able to actually live up to the things others think her able to.The cases are cool and well devised, although I knew who the villain is at a very early stage. But then, I have to admit that in the characters' world, it would be harder to jump to my conclusions. And if you're interested in the romance, er, then you need to look elsewhere. Alex is supposedly Death's girlfriend, but that relationship is forbidden and she doesn't even know his name. Then there is ex-boyfriend Falin, who is sworn to the winter queen and compelled to do her bidding, whether he wants to or not. So I'd say, Alex doesn't really have a love-life. No matter if you're team Death or team Falin, there isn't anything to write home about.Anyway, “Grave Vision” is a good addition to the series and if you liked the previous books, you'll like this one as well. I know that I did. Glad the book came out!

Worth reading - possible spoilers in review
I love this series, I will admit I nearly abandoned it after one too many delays in release dates but I noticed the Author actually updated her website and facebook to reinforce the final release date which renewed my interest. It's a fantasy fiction series with a strong female lead, two very intriguing love interests and a loyal group of human and magical friends. The writing is smooth and easy to get lost in for me, the storyline is interesting and each book has had a theme of 1 new big case and all the characters getting some involvement in one way or another. I do wish there was a little more character development around the friends, father and love interests, it's not that we don't know them - we get tidbits - but the story just focuses a lot more on Alex. I would also love to see more packed into the next novel or some resolution on hanging things like Alex learning glamour, picking a court or guy, and how her business is still running when she's rarely in it or has so few clients. It also has never been addressed what will happen to Alex aging wise now, she's Fae enough for most things like lying and metal but does her unaging body mean she no longer looks any older than now?I'm eagerly awaiting the next one I just hope it doesn't take as long as this one.

A different and pleasant approach to supernatural
Alex Craft is a grave witch and much more. This series is similar to other supernatural books and yet so different. You’re never really sure which direction she is going to take and the consequences. Very interesting books. I look forward to reading more by this author.

Cela me rappelle Anita Blake, et ça me déçoit un peu.

Enough action and suspense to keep it interesting.
The premise and the plot were both great but there were some pacing and point of view issues that hindered my enjoyment. I really like Alex. She seemed like a real and relatable character and I'm eager to see what happens next for her.

All the elements that I’ve loved about this series are still there.
There is always a huge worry when there is a large gap between releases in a series that it just won’t be the same as it was before, even more so when that gap lasts 4 years. I can say that this had very much the same feel as the previous 3 books, which is and isn’t necessarily a good thing. It is good because all the elements that I’ve loved about this series are still there. The world is still rich in both characters and setting. We get to see plenty of it in this book and is the biggest reason for the rating, along with an interesting main story line.It is not so good because it seems as though the characters didn’t grow or progress all that much from the previous books. There was no obvious or significant change in Alex’s powers. There is still the three-way drama with her sort of relationships with Falin and Death. The only difference at all doesn’t even take place until the end of the book and even that is apparently just a temporary fix that doesn’t actually solve anything. On a spoiler note…While this does resolve the main issue story line, it also doesn’t. It mostly leaves a whole lot of open ended speculation that there is more going on than what we saw here. It also felt pretty anti-climactic that the reader never learns why Glitter didn’t burn out Alex like it did every other user. You can speculate that it is because she is at least part Fae, along with the Winter Queen, but it is never actually addressed. You would think that with her ability to see through glamours, it wouldn’t have affected her the same way and that there should have been a very different affect on the Queen than there was on Alex.I do really enjoy this series, but I would love it a whole lot more if we could get past the unnecessary relationship flip flopping and move on to something different now. Resolve it one way or another and lets explore Alex’s place within the world of Faerie as that seems to be a much more important issue.

I HATE love triangles
There were so many avenues to explore here. Court intrigue, the drug and the effects on humans vs. Fae, the relationship with her father and friends, etc. But it feels the same. For $8 we see Alex running around tired all the time, being propped up by a guy, and harrased by mean old women. Then of course, she is still torn between Falin and Death while not one but TWO other men want to marry her. Winter, and Shadow suitors. I'm getting weary of Alex, a strong witch and planeweaver being the constant damsel in distress who can't seem to ever do her own shopping or even laundry. I feel bad for her dog. She seems unable to care for herself, how is she managing to care for a little dog when she goes blind or passes out all the time. Oh, and is only eating when a man cooks for her or takes her to Bloom. It is a real waste of a very strong potential character. She's been reduced to a damsel who needs recusing from the mean insane fae, or the mean insane fae males. It's been done. To death. I'm tired. About as tired as she seems to be. So now, she gets her independence but for saving the court of winter, oh just a year.I wonder what Caleb did to get his.But I won't continue to read. I think I can finish it a better way in my imagination rather than pay someone to write about a good strong woman who is weakening. Not fading, just weak.

Long wait to nowhere
As y'all know, it's been a while. As time drew near, I re-read all the previous books and was ready for February 2 to hit. Yes, the story picks up where we left off. Yes, angst and guilt seem to color all of Alex's relationships. Anyone who has any kind of personal relationship with Alex has gotten hurt and nearly all have been pulled into Fairie at one time or another (even the dog!). What I really hoped for with this book is some advancement. Do we know why Alex's father is in deep hiding? No. Do we have some progress towards a relationship? No. Has she picked a court? Not choosing is not really a choice in this case. And hey, you got something the courts want! So, are you making them come to you with their best offer? No. You know you are a planeweaver. You know that there exists one other who might give you advice. Do you seek the other planeweaver out to maybe learn something so that you aren't stumbling around blindly putting everyone you love in danger? That's a big NO.What we've learned: Everyone comes when you call them - maybe not in the way you expect, but even the King of Nightmares shows up. You now glow and surprise! you're part of the ruling class of Fairie. Alex may not want to learn from Daddy Dearest, but she doesn't take the effort to ask anyone else, not even Caleb who has been drawn into her drama. Caleb may be ticked that Holly now has been roped into the drama, but I'm pretty sure he's got a handle on "ignorance of the law does not excuse you" and would help if asked. The writing is still solid. The story held my attention. I'm not looking for resolution, but I would sure like some momentum rather than yet another court (this time Light) out to get Alex.

Great characters, formulaic plot
I really like Alex Craft and her world. Death and Falin are great romantic foils. All of Alex's friends are interesting and varied. I re-read the whole series before starting this, so that it would be fresh in my mind when I started this long-awaited entry into the series. Unfortunately, the books are becoming formulaic. People start dying, some weird magic is involved, Alex puts herself in harms way to find the solution, and she comes up with some never-before-seen way of thwarting the evil. Nothing is every solved with her love life. Wash, rinse, repeat. This is a common problem with series so it's obviously a tough thing for authors to avoid. I hope that Price is able to overcome the roadblock and make the next entry more original and satisfying.

Enjoyable Read
This book has been a long time coming, but I can tell you it is totally worth reading. Even though so much time has passed I had no problems falling right back into this series. I had no problems dredging up from my memory the details from past books that I needed for this book. So if you were contemplating reading this book but avoiding it because you fear you won't remember, the book does a great job of helping to refresh you of what's happened in the past. This author is totally worth giving a second chance!Alex is fading because of course "Fae can’t survive without a tie to Faerie." So she gets roped into help the Winter Queen find the person responsible for the new glamour-infused street drug "Glitter" which makes the users fears real! Since she's fading she must do this all before she a.) dies, or b.) has to give up her life as she knows it! I zoomed through this book barley wanting to put it down even though I had too a couple times. It was without out a doubt my favorite book of the year. The writing was on par, the story telling pulled me in, and I couldn't wait to find out who the bad guy was. The mystery is interesting with a dubious bad guy who is with out a doubt cray cray! Probably certifiably nuts, or in other words a complete Psychopath.... Though I had several suspects, one of them ended up being it, and it was totally vindicating! I also was happy there was no huge cliffhanger. Though there are still many threads needing to be resolved, and I really hope we get that chance to follow through with this series.I was a little disappointing that there still seems to be a love triangle. Also that Death still just as cute only gets small cameo parts! Falin who is still as gorgeous as always still can't be trusted, even though I want to (sigh)! What else oh yeah Alex's Dad really is still unbelievable, I'm just not sure there is are any redeeming qualities in him! He pulls out a dusey of a humdinger in this book for Alex! Alex herself is still a little uncertain of her future, still doesn't know how to fully use her powers, but I have hope for her! There are openings made in this one for her to learn, though why Falin/Caleb haven't even really tried to help her learn is beyond me. They could have taught her at least glamour by now. There is a lot to enjoy in this one and not much to hate!I recommend this to any one who previously enjoyed this series, or who loves urban fantasy. Though if your new to the series I suggest you start a the beginning with Grave Witch!
