Great tool!
Feels good in my hand. Loud whistle. Full size ink cartridge. Sturdy construction.

In Titanium, this is a virtually industructable pen that will do far more than write comfortably.
The only one I've bought is the Titanium.Extremely sturdy pen. One of those every day items in my pocket. I've used mine not only for all those writing tasks, and the bolt action is a pure joy to simply fiddle with. But, I've also used the fact that this is a very rugged pen for chores that it was probably not designed. Things like resetting the safety valve of a propane tank when a Boy Scout does not attach the regulator properly. Prying and poking things that a stick just can't without breaking. I also love the fact that Titanium does conduct heat as well as other metals, so you can write with this in the cold and not find your hand frozen.Very useful, very sturdy. My original was from a Kickstarter. The one I bought here on Amazon is going to my God-daughter as a graduation present. Hopefully to be used for proper college things, but it will also serve as a nice tool to explain the meaning of "no" to a overactive date.

GREAT QUALITY PEN!
I have the titanium version, and I absolutely love it! It has some weight to it, but I like that as well. It feels like a premium pen, and it is a premium pen. But, it also doubles as a tactical tool, and that's a big plus for me. I've seen some comments about how the ink runs out too fast, and I feel like it lasts long enough for a short ink cartridge. I use my pen daily, heavy use, and I'm getting about 2-3 months of ink. I get compliments everywhere I go. I'm a truck driver for FedEx freight, and every pick up that I go to, it never fails! I always get compliments. Apart from that, the customer service is amazing! I jumped off my tractor, and the pocket clip got caught on something, and it broke off.. And not that easy, it gave a good tug. I contacted the manufacturer, and they shipped out another pocket clip, no questions asked. Love the product, and the service. If I lost it today, I would definitely order another one.I saw a review about how the opening is too big, and the tip is wobbly, I don't have that issue with mine. It's very sturdy. I wonder if he had the aluminum version, and if that's a bit different.

which unfortunately is poor because the opening in the tip has been cut ...
There's two types of people buying this pen--those who will judge it as a pen and those who will judge it as a tactical tool (which also happens to write). As a pen it must be evaluated on its writing performance, which unfortunately is poor because the opening in the tip has been cut too large to securely and steadily hold the ink cartridge, which means that you feel and hear the cartridge moving around as you apply pressure to the paper. This is made even worse when using Lamy-branded cartridges, which are smaller in diameter. Having a wobbly writing tip is simply unacceptable in any pen, let alone one that costs $50. Can you write with it? Sure. But not as well as you can with a $5 Zebra F-701 (which is also a knurled metal pen, btw), and that's a shame because this is, after all, primarily a pen.As a a tactical tool it's also somewhat flawed, though it doesn't bother me as much. First, the bolt (when retracted) audibly rattles inside the pen body. It's quite loud and occurs with only slight movement of the pen. Seems this issue could've been solved with closer tolerances. Next, access to the whistle is awkward. You need to remove the top cap and expose the endcap threads which serve as the mouthpiece. Interestingly, the pen is marketed as a multi-toned whistle. The user is supposed to pinch the clip and slide their fingers to modulate the pitch of the whistle. The issue here is that end cap secures the clip. So to blow on the whistle you need to remove the end cap, which then means the clip is no longer held in place but roating freely on its collar. Modulating pitch an awkward procedure because you need to manually hold the clip in position while sliding your fingers up and down while trying not to let the clip fall off.I'm sure the glass breaker works as advertised and the pen itself is attractive and well finished. I just wished it wrote better than a $5 Zebra.
