I purchased this product to try to use of some of my oldnon-magnetic pots with my induction cooktop. It transferred some heat to the aluminum cookware, but it took a very long time to transfer enough to bring water to a boil. Ended up buying a small cast iron dutch oven instead. It heats up very rapidly on the induction element. Its probably best to just donate your old aluminum cookware and go to cast iron and other fully magnetic pots and pans when you start using an induction range. This diffuser does, however, work surprisingly well to speed up the defrosting of chicken and other cuts of meat. So it does have some use as a diffuser and we did find an alternate use for it.
