Studio 54: The Real Story by Ian Schrager

What an absolutely gorgeous book. The first thing to delight the senses is the cover, which is tactile fabric with the iconic 54 logo. Open the book and prepare not to stir for hours as you are drawn back into the late 70's and the story and the people who conceived of and frequented Studio 54. The photos themselves are a joy. Worth every penny.

Excellent quality and a good read great pictures that capture the time

A.MAZING BOOKI have seen the documentary/ film and that was just incredible to see.This book was a Christmas gift to myself and I’m over the moon with it. It came wrapped in the thin plastic to protect it. I had to open it now and couldn’t wait for Christmas..Beyond worth the £52!The pictures are exciting, really large and a joy to look at. Super thrilled to have this in my collection.Thank you Amazon!

If you’re in anyway interested in the legendary 54 or more widely the culture of celebrity in New York during this era, you will not be disappointed with this book. It’s big, lavishly produced and jam packed with photos all painstakingly annotated, plus many pages of text. It’s the ultimate coffee table book but also provides a deeply resourced wealth of information. With the passing of Steve Strange it’s a shame we can’t get a similar book on the Camden Palace, which was arguably the Uk’s most influcial club in the early eighties.

...it arrived without shrink wrap! Customer photos show it being wrapped, which is exactly what you would expect for a book of this quality and price point. The gold leaf on the cover was scratched and there is evidence that the book has been looked through, which leads me to believe I received a used copy.I am awarding five stars, though, as the book is absolutely stunning. I just hope the replacement copy I receive is new...

I ordered this after watching the tv documentary and I am not disappointed. For those that are saying the cover is scratched, it’s meant to be that way. It’s a complete photographical summing up of the 70s disco scene as I like to think of it (I was 12!). So gutted I was too young for this…beautiful book
