In the past I have bought some coat racks which hand plastic hooks and lasted just a few weeks. So I opted to try and find a heavy duty one. This is supposed to be it. However after less than a week of finally fitting it to the wall, one of the hooks came off. Basically the crew that secures each of the hooks didn't even reach the hook properly. Badly made....So the hook pulled off the wooden surround and there is no way to attach the hook because it needs these special screws. It is a pity it took so long for me to attach it to the wall. I am now out of the returns period. Maybe I bought a dud, maybe not. But based on this I can't recommend. It is a shame if it was a dud, because at first glance it looked substantial...

I normally am a constant 5 star reviewer if the product does what it says but this is a shocker. The cheapskates have put the cheapest screws which sheer even when using a hand screw. The while screwing one in by hand it broke it two! A screw designed to take the weight of up to 12 coats...Absolute rubbish-unfortunately the two other screws are half way in and sheered so the only way to remove them is to yank them out with pliers with rawl plugs stuck in the wall. So disappointed. Not sure what to do with this now-a complete waste of money. If you decide to buy-get your own screws and rawl plugs.

Coat hooks are fine, screws are useless
This is a perfectly okay set of coat hooks, although I agree with many of the other commenters that the screws that come with it aren't particularly good. That's a problem I've found with lots of things that come with 'free fixings'.The screws tend to disintegrate even under mild pressure, so I'd recommend putting it up with better screws. The coat rack itself is fine though and, with good fixings, I've found it holds three or four reasonably heavy coats without any problems.

Poor Quality Fixings!
The product itself looks okay and should be suitable for its purpose. What irritates me most is when manufactureres put poor quality screws with the product. Despite drilling the correct size holes, and using the wall plugs supplied, 2 of the 3 screws sheared when being screwed in. I was using a hand screwdriver and there wasn't huge resistance. Upon examination, they're poor quality and I'd rather they hadn't supplied them with the coat rack. I've just wasted 2 hours trying to get the damaged screws out of the wall, and putting things right.

The first was fine and looks like it will do its job
I bought two. The first was fine and looks like it will do its job. The second was broken in the box. The hook had fallen off because the screw which held it in had clearly been screwed in too much and destroyed the thread.Secondly, I screwed in the whole thing using supplied screws but one of the heads snapped clean off. Stupid, so used all my own screws. If it comes unbroken and you have your own screws then it's a good purchase but I wouldn't risk buying another, personally. Especially seeing as I have to pay to return the broken one.

You can buy this with confidence
I'm very pleased with the quality of this item - you won't be embarrassed to have it in plain view. The painting has a beautifully smooth finish and there is no linear casting mark on the hooks (imagine a raised line dividing them in two). It comes with two screws (plus wall plugs) that should be of sufficient length to support the weight of four heavy coats. If you're thinking of buying this rail then please bare in mind that there isn't enough space between the hooks to allow for the use of coat hangers.

Take your time lining up the screws and it will pay dividends
I read several reviews which said that the screws are poor quality. I didn’t have an issue but you do need to be careful to line up the drilled holes so that the screws go in straight. A pencil won’t fit through the screw holes in the wood to mark the wall so I used a small screwdriver to scratch but can be hard to drill knowing you have the hole dead centre. My advice don’t use an electric screwdriver to screw in the 3 screws - do it by hand as it’s easier. Take your time lining things up and you will be fine. Looks nice

Study, looks good and does the job.
This is very sturdy and has a lovely golden sheen to the wood, giving it a rustic look which is just what we wanted. My hubby, who isn't a natural DIYer, had absolutely no problems putting it up as everything was included in a little plastic bag attached. It looks great, it can deal with my three teenagers coats, jackets, bags and anything else they throw on it- a job well done. Very, very happy with this product.
