Fantastic beginner guitar
For the money this guitar is great. You don't want to invest 500 quid on a guitar if you don't know you'll like it as a hobby. Mine sounds and looks great. After playing better and expensive guitars the only drawbacks to this one is that the fretboard is a bit slim from E to E string. This means less margin for error of muting strings than with better guitars with bigger fretboards. The margin for error is also reduced with regards to fret buzz, with better guitars you can be a bit sloppy with technique and not get the buzz I have found. I am also changing strings because I suspect the strings supplied may be slightly harder than usual, this is an issue for the lower E and B strings. however, I might just be playing too much and not have acclimatised properly. Overall, for the money, 10/10. I will be investing in a better guitar but this has served its purpose and I will remember it fondly lol.

Fantastic for the price
You maybe asking your self is this martin smith acoustic guitar worth the price we'll yes it is I bought this simply to learn and then move onto a electoral guitar 🎸 Well for the price this guitar is fantastic the packaging is not the best but you wouldn't expect the best packaging for the price this guitar sounds great and is well built no marks or anything bent or out of shape if your looking for a fantastic beginner guitar well you found it never judge something by the pics or the price point because its always going to a hit and miss this would be perfect for someone looking for a decent guitar that comes with everything you basically need on a low budget that's my thoughts about this guitar anyways hope you feel the same way I did when I got mine thank you

Great Beginner's guitar!
Item just arrived in time and with great packaging. I believe the price you pay of this kind of guitar really is worth it. The guitar is suitable for beginners and needs some tuning after unpacking but the delivery packaging is perfect. The guitar itself does really feel good in hands and the surface finish of the wood is of high quality. The strings are working perfectly and with the correct tuning, one can start playing songs on it.There are also extra strings as they will be needed when the current strings wear out after a year or so of playing. It comes with the complete package and a manual as well to get you started.Despite all these, I found on the Internet that many say don't buy Martin Smith and go for something else.My advice is if your budget is limited below £100 and you want to start a new hobby and play a new instrument, this is a great option as it's cheap and of high quality. Enough to get you started until you may want to go for a more studio version of the guitar. The sound is ok and won't put you off either, but do your research as buying a bad guitar that makes bad chords, would put you off and de-motivate you in the long term.

Ideal for beginners
This is the first guitar I have owned so I am not comparing it against any others. I have had it now for a good few months to make sure I could give an accurate review. For a beginner guitar it is ideal. It is not too expensive, so if you find guitar playing is not for you it isn't the end of the world. There are a lot of reviews for many guitars saying they go out of tune quickly. That seems to be the same for most guitars, especially when new. This one did to start with, but a cheap guitar tuner solved the problem. However, I have found the longer you have it the less often it needs tuning. I guess the strings eventually stretch enough to stop going out of tune as often, or the better you get at playing the guitar the less stress you give the strings? Either way it hasn't been much of a problem. I have played mine for a short time almost every day now, and it still feels and plays great. If you are thinking of trying a guitar for the first time then this one won't be a bad buy.

It was OK
There was lots of scratches and dints in the guitar and the strap is terrible (buy your own) the strings feel very cheap but it sounds good if you buy better strings it will be cold to play

Newbie
This is my first guitar so I can't compare it with any other, I can only base my opinions on what's in front of me. The guitar arrived the next day (via Amazon Prime) and was well packed. Upon opening there were no marks or scratches and all the advertised accessories were present and correct. Obviously it was out of tune ( I didn't expect it to be otherwise) but I'd bought myself a small electronic tuner a few days before and that was taken care of in a matter of minutes. I was told new guitars and strings go out of tune very quickly but a week later the guitar is still pretty much in tune with only very minor tweaks necessary. Mine has a lovely deep blue finish and it certainly looks the part.I suppose the free on-line lessons are helpful if you're in front of a computer but I prefer to learn following printed instructions so another purchase of a cheap and cheerful beginners book was required. I did go on line just the once, found I had to create an account but I wasn't very inspired by what I found.I have a friend who has played guitars for a good number of years and he was quite impressed with my first purchase. He tells me the action is a little high for his liking but thought it was much better guitar than anything under £50 had a right to be.I didn't know if I would 'take' to playing the guitar so I bought this budget model knowing full well it wouldn't compare to the £300 + guitars out there. I couldn't see the point of spending 'serious' money on something I might abandon after only a couple of weeks. Well... my fingers are sore and my chords sound like a pig is being slaughtered but I'm enjoying myself and I'm well pleased with my purchase.
