Best Songbook!
This book is amazing. It has every Beatles song I can think of. Nice arrangements, not cheesy. If you play well, these are pretty easy to pickup. Be sure to order the spiral bound book.

Who knew?
In Sept. 1963 I was holed up in my parents basement, as usual, with my ear pressed up closely to the small transistor radio I carried with me everywhere. The D.J. announced he was going to play two versions of the same song--one by an American band (The Typhoons) and one by this new band out of England. After both versions had been played, he invited listeners to phone in and vote for the version they preferred. The American version won hands-down with many people expressing disgust that a U.S. radio station would dare to play something from another country. And, as they say, the rest is history. Some people have speculated that Wm. Shakespeare never existed because one man could never have written so many brilliant plays. I imagine many years from now skeptics will be saying something similar about Lennon and McCartney. This book is massive, both physically and creatively. It deserves to be kept on your music rack just for the sake of its beauty alone. (I did have to struggle to realign the spiral binding that had shifted during shipping, which almost knocked one star off my rating.) As for the contents, I only have two words: Lennon & McCartney (although George and Ringo manage to score a few hits of their own). At the age of 15 in 1963, I had no concept of musical composition. I knew what I liked and that was that. The more my parents hated something, the more I liked it. They HATED the Beatles, even though me mum was from England herself. At first, I, too, scorned these Liverpool scallywags. But then I heard 'I Want to Hold Your Hand' and my musical world experienced a seismic shift. When Magical Mystery Tour and Sgt. Pepper's emerged in '67 they became the soundtrack of my college years and I began to appreciate the brilliance behind the music.Playing the songs in this book is an acid-free trip down memory lane for those of us who experienced the Beatles phenomenon first hand. The hooks that thrilled us the first time around are there, front and center, to delight us again. They're also a lesson in musical genius. Time and time again I found myself thinking, "Wow! Look what they did there." The only element that's missing are those unique voices that combined to create a whole that was greater than the sum of its parts.Ironically, the only place you'll hear many of these songs today is in the elevator of a nearby high rise. In fact, John and Paul used to joke that they'd know they had become old men when they started to hear their music in elevators. Some of the fun with this book is giving the songs an elevator or piano bar twist.Give your fingers and your ears a treat and pick up a copy of this book at your earliest convenience. Due to its overwhelming size, the spiral bound version is definitely the best choice. And, yes, most of this brilliance came from two gangly lads from Liverpool. What is it about the British and brilliance?

Original composition.
The compositions sound like original Beatle music. My opinion is they would be challenging for a beginner.

Great Book if you're looking for a compilation of Beatles songs
This is written easy enough that I can sit and play and enjoy playing it without struggling. I would say easy almost intermediate is the level of this book. If you want to just have some fun at your piano with Beatles songs, this is a great book.

A nice collection of songs for the Beatles enthusiast!
I had just finished the Alfred series, teaching myself how to play the piano. So, to say the least, I'm just a beginner. With a lot of practice, I've already mastered songs like Hey Jude, Yesterday, The Long and Winding Road and I'll Follow the Sun. Well, maybe not mastered but, what I play is recognize-able to others. I enjoy tickling the ivories and that is all that matters to me. If you are ready for a challenge and willing to put in the time to learn new songs, this collection is for you, especially if you suffer from a touch of Beatlemania. I only wish the book was spiral-bound to set on the stand easily. That is the reason for the four stars.

GREAT GIFT FOR A BEETLES FAN
This music was purchased as a gift for a friend who loves to tinker on the piano. He was absolutely THRILLED with the book, the complete selections offered and even took it with him when going to visit his brother for Christmas Dinner! I suspect he may have even slept with the book or maybe stayed up all night trying the different songs. GREAT GIFT FOR ANY BEETLES FAN!!
