Easy and functional bike lock
I'm always of the view that if someone is really intent on stealing something and is geared up for it then they will often find a way. This bike lock is a light and functional way to prevent your average "chancer" from being able to just grab and go with your bike.By that I mean it doesn't feel bullet proof but provides a very good and easy to use deterant for my son to lock up his bike by the frame and also link up the tyres to stop anything being easily lifted off and stolen. The keys make it easier than a combination but also risk losing them so it's a case of personal preference I guess. The mount makes it easy to keep the lock on your bike for when it's needed.

Good quality
Good quality lock , I purchased this lock because as well as a cycle lock it said for electric scooter as well . But unfortunately the bracket doesn't fit a scooter as it's not big enough. Apart from that the lock itself is first class.Maybe the bracket would fit a less sturdy make of scooter

D lock too small, probably not secure. Wire rope OK for occasional use.
Steel on the D lock is not particularly hard – certainly not as hard as my Oxford D lock – which is also bigger and almost half the price of these two devices. Potential purchasers should note the dimensions in the Topward advert. If you are taking this lock to lock your bike at your local ASDA, Lidl , Sainsbury etc you will find this lock is too small to fit around many things and pretty well useless to lock your bike to much of the car park furniture at these stores. The rubber covering is nice. I am not clear how the bracket which is supposed to facilitate the D lock being fastened to your bike frame is supposed to fit but it is likely in any event to make fastening your bike to anything even more difficult. The part with the lock can be put on the U section either way round where my Oxford will only go one way – which is annoying. However, one way the rubber covering is a particularly poor fit and a better but not close fit the other so water will get into the section with the lock and cause it eventually to corrode. I put my Oxford lock over the handle bars and it does rattle which is annoying but the rubber cover on the Topward will prevent that. The wire rope has no lock with it. When closed into a loop it is about 13 Inches across so capable of locking your bike to most things. My experience with these types of security device is the metal is fairly easily cut with a short pair of bolt croppers which could be hidden under someone's jacket. It is the type of device you use in a busy area where anyone trying to cut it off is going to get noticed. In short, it will stop the casual thief wheeling the bike away. This is what I will use it for - so I haven't attempted to cut it in half as I would probably ruin it - but if this is what you want there are plenty alternatives. Having said that, many of these wire rope locks have a built in lock which are often rubbish and easily broken off. At least with this device you can buy a decent lock to go with it and that might be enough to discourage the amateur thief. In short. The D lock is far too small. The rubber covering is nice but does not fit as well as it could. The lock mechanism is easy to access and use. I suspect this lock will be easy to cut off with a battery powered angle grinder so I would not use it to secure an expensive bike which is likely to be left in a quiet area.I wont be using the D lock but might use the wire rope for trips to my local supermarket. With a decent lock it might discourage a amateur thief from attempting to break it - as if the lock looks decent a potential thief may be fooled into thinking the wire rope will be just as difficult to defeat.
