Packaging can be deceiving
The packaging was misleading. I though for a second I had bought from a knockoff retailer, what with the brandless box and FedEx packaging, but this was from an Amazon refurbishment center. I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. What came in the package was a card about returns, basic SIM card installation, and warranty. There was also the brandless box as shown above. What wasn't shown was that it was open inside the packaging, and I could feel the Pixel 2 shifting quite a bit inside. Thankfully, there was no damage to the Pixel 2. Along with the phone, the box had a 3 foot 2-way USB type-c cable and a charging block to go with it. The cable given may be able to charge (I wouldn't know, since I have plenty of chargers to use already) it is not usable to transfer data from one phone to another. There is not a SIM removal tool as is stated in the product description. The phone had a film on it that didn't protect the screen fully, as seen in the other image, but there wasn't any damage, so no foul. When I first plugged the Pixel 2 in, it indicated it had a full battery, but when I turned it on, the battery was so low it would not work without being charged. The squeeze function works perfectly. The fingerprint sensor is quite sensitive, thinking it is too dirty to read anything if I press my finger on it more than once without wiping it down. But it eventually worked with me.The screen is responsive, though it does take a few seconds to pull up app data or search for something internally. The screen is bright enough for my purposes, and there are no apparent defects in the display. The Pixel 2 won't update past the current one (Android 11). But there are ways around that. The Pixel 2 model is about 4 years old, and has dropped in price considerably since then. Yet it is still competitive in what it offers. There are some flagship models that are less than a year old that can't compete with this model. It's been refurbished, so the battery and anything else in the phone that can degrade is at a state it could be sold. For the price, this phone is one of the best.--EDIT--So I've had this phone for a little over four months now, and it's working pretty well. There aren't any major malfunctions or crashes to complain about. I've learned how the fingerprint scanner reads, and it's not hard to unlock the phone with a pin either way.Though The screen has something of a "phantom touch" when it's charging. Basically it glitches when I am touching the screen and thinking I am touching it in two places and not one. It took me a while to realize it wasn't a random thing, and there are others out there with this model that have the same problem. It was frustrating at the time, but now it's kind of like a game to avoid it. Which is fine, the battery lasts long enough I can put off charging until I have to do other things and leave it be.The camera is still one of the best I've used, and the photo editing is definitely getting a work out with all the photos I've been taking.

Battery life and lifespan
So far since purchase the battery life reduces quickly probably about 1 or 1.5hrs in...this is a definite con for me for this purchase.

Certified refurbished and certified amazing
I wanted to wait until the Pixel 3, but I found myself in a situation where I needed a new phone sooner than I thought. My 4 year old workhorse, last of its breed (removable battery), Galaxy S5 did not play well with a custom android ROM update. It decided to kill my cell service. The thought of going back to the bloated, ancient, unpatched, vanila android was not appealing at all.A new Pixel 2 was my first choice, but I couldn't get that shipped next day. I ordered this certified refurbished one instead and I wasn't sure what to expect. When I received it, I inspected it closely. I was trying very hard to find any kind of cosmetic flaw. I could not find a single tiny scuff or mark. Not one! That's a great start. It looks brand spanking new. Next, I turned it on. Fast forward a few days, mostly because my service provider support sucks, but I finally got this phone setup and working the way I want. This phone is blazing fast! The camera has some kind of magical software that makes every photo look amazing. I love the front facing stereo speakers. They sound nice and clear. The fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone is positioned perfectly and it works just as perfectly. Compared to my 4 year old Galaxy S5, there is nothing revolutionary here, but every single aspect is done so much better that the overall package is a pretty big leap forward. I can't really say anything negative about it. The only thing that would make this phone perfect for me is if it had a removable battery. I did find one issue, but from what I understand it's a bug with Wifi in the latest version of Android and not specific to this phone. When the phone first tries to connect to my Wifi router at work, it actually causes the router to reboot. After the router reboots, the wifi connection works fine with the phone after that. I don't think it's only Asus, but apparently this is common with Asus routers RT-AC66U and RT-N66U. Asus tries pointing their finger at the phone being the issue, and it probably is due to the bug in android, BUT my phone doesn't kill my Netgear router at home. So clearly, Asus has some blame. No buggy wifi device, no matter how bugged it is should be able to take down an entire network that easily. So if you have one of the routers above, proceed with caution.I would definitely recommend this phone to anyone who's looking for a great android device. I'm glad I discovered how great an Amazon certified refurbished phone is because I may never buy new again. The one I received looks brand new and it cost much less then new!

Sent with a dead battery
Phone showed up in fairly good condition. No scratches, dents, or any physical damage whatsoever. Updated the phone and started setup. After setting everything up, I noticed that the battery was draining rather fast. I hooked up the phone and let it charge to 100%, thinking that maybe it had an inaccurate reading from not being charged before shipping. After getting it charged to full, the battery was still draining extremely fast. I downloaded accubattery and ran a few tests. After 3 rounds of full charges, it came back as a 41% battery health. Far from the advertised 80% minimum. The battery could only hold 1,092 mAh compared to the stock 2,500 mAh. This health was so bad that the phone would completely shut off if the camera was on without being plugged in.

The phone just shuts off when it wants and is super laggy.
Love the pixel 2 and I've been going back to it for the past few years but if refurbished phones like this are going to have used up batteries that don't last I guess I'll have to upgrade soon. **Update** phone just shuts off when it wants, no longer battery related, I was just sold a dud, beware.

As advertised
Phone is exactly as advertised. Refurbished, but no noticable scratches/wear. No issues, worked out of the box.I disliked the lack of a headphone jack, but that's no fault of the reseller. Experience with them was great.
