Outstanding Debut Novel - Must Read!
When I tell you that this book is good... that word doesn't begin to cover it!It was so well written that I'm still in awe that this is the author's debut novel. The story is based in Celtic and Scottish mythology and lore, and the two are so seamlessly and thoughtfully woven together to create a brand new version that is absolutely stunning. The care and detail that was put into weaving the lore into this story are evident throughout. This story of hidden magic, tragedy, adventure, and love is well balanced with spice, witty banter, and enough intrigue to keep you on your toes.I highly recommend reading this book, and I cannot wait until I can get my hands on the next installment in this series!

An excellent take on the mythology of Ireland and Scotland
Action? Check. Mythology? Check. A vivid array of characters driving the story to a surprising and intriguing finish? Check x4.I was drawn to this book by the beautiful artwork, but it's the beautiful prose that kept me here: as we get to know not only the characters but the driocht (magic) that both aids and endangers them, the stunning descriptions and elegantly rendered scenes have settled this story into my heart. Well done Jessica Leigh: roll on May 2024 and the next volume of the series!

Love Stories Based on Celtic Mythology
A Daughter Forged in Fire🌶️ 2“One does not always feel they are worthy, but that does not change the fact that they are…”I am a sucker for all things Celtic so I jumped at the chance to read a story based on Celtic folklore. You can see through the telling of the story that a lot of effort was made to keep the lore authentic.Mystery, prophecy, ancient elemental magic, adventure, tragedy, a villain you love to hate, witty banter, and a slow-burn romance…what more could you ask for?!The beginning of the story was set at a slower pace with some world/lore building but it definitely did not lack intensity. Around the 50% mark the pace picks up heavily and remains steady until the end. Definitely a well developed story, as the story continues the plot thickens and becomes more and more intriguing.Definitely recommend! I am heavily invested and have already started book 2: A Destiny Spun in Silver. 🩶As always, check content warnings.

Elemental Magic
For the past century and a half, the Tuatha and Milesians have been engaged in a protracted conflict. Rhiannon, a direct descendant of the Tuatha and a practitioner of Elemental Magic, has been living a peaceful existence in her village until it came under attack by the Milesians. During the attack she saves Rowan, a Milesians. Soon their paths become intertwined as they set off on an adventure to find the Nichnevin, the Tuatha savior. The initial 25% of the narrative establishes the characters, plot, and setting. Following this introductory section, the story gains momentum, and was very captivating. I was definitely on the edge of my seat and excited to jump into book two.PS: I still believe that the true king is still alive."The only thing that could separate me from you is my grave, Rhia. That is the only condition in which I will not be beside you."
