What a great buy. 5 albums for a great price. A friend got me involved with Elo. So this little box set got me started. I dont care for all of Jeff lynns compositions but their are some songs i find really worth the listen over and over again. I heard some of the new stuff and dont care for it. I think he lost his touch. He gave the Travelling Wilburys his Jeff Lynn touch and never liked it. Zanadu was awful. But here you have his early works plus get Eldurado. That to me is Elo, Jeff Lynn at his Best. He had a moment if time and this box set is it. Enjoy

(ELO: Original CD Album Classics) - Loved this set, and at least the overall quality is better than the first issue.By what the scope shows, I would guess at 1990's remastering specs. Would I buy them again if they get the 21st century technology working for them? Probably not, even though I'm sure the Bose would light up like the newer Heart, Foreigner, Beatles, etc. remasters make it glow with audio never heard before.PS: Someone wrote the Discovery album is the weak one here? Really? My God, that album used to light up our phones with requests (at the Classic Rock stations I worked at). I hated Horace Wimp, but after hearing it several hundred times..."Time" was and is weak. It was the lowest selling album by ELO in the midwest in that day. Now days... with all the DJ's gone and automation with voice-overs by idiots from the coasts who didn't really needed the money (so why did they make all of us jobless?)... and no chance for regional sounds or local sounds to have a chance to be exposed unless they cater to national radio.Now, think Styx, Head East, Brownsville Station, Chicago Transit Authority a.k.a. Chicago, Chase, Ides Of March, Lighthouse, REO Speedwagon... do I have to go on? Say thank you, the next time you talk to Alice Cooper, John Tesh or whatever idiot you can think of. They think they can run a better rock 'n roll radio show and play what we know and grew up with. Wrong answer! I've heard their shows and they suck!Back to the original thought. Discovery was weak? Well, I guess... with national radio making the decisions then like they do now... who knows. I guess the requests I used to get for several cuts off of Discovery / none off of Time, would never had happened. Right?

I won't take the time to individually review each album. Needless to say if you are interested in buying this, you already know about the albums. If you are new to their work and want to get into ELO, this is a good value purchase to immerse yourself into their discography. People can debate the choice and which album should or shouldn't have been included in this package. As a fan, I don't care. I bought it anyway and then picked up most of the remaining albums individually.Contained are 5 of the bonus track/remaster releases of some classic ELO albums. Key word: bonus tracks. These aren't the old CD releases.If you are out there wanting to pick up the whole catalogue of rereleases, then why not get this at a huge value and save yourself some money. I had all these albums in other formats, but I wanted the convenience of CDs for all of them. It's ELO and Jeff Lynne so of course it's brilliant, well, except for the album of re-recorded songs "Mr. Blue Sky: The Very Best of Electric Light Orchestra." I don't have much use for that. But I guess Jeff got bored and wanted to tinker with something. Yes, I've heard he re-recorded them so he could keep all the licensing fees. Uh, doesn't the record company get those for movies and commercials, and the composer gets his royalty?

This set is so good. I accidentally bought 2!!!! I love the Album Classics series anyway. A great way to collect all my old albums without paying an expensive price. Yeah you won't get liner notes, or foldouts, but it is the music I am after. Lots of memories and super music in these sets. ELO is an awesome group and their music still sounds as great as you remember from the 70's and 80's. And yes, I would buy it again....I did!! LOL

Excellent collection of most of ELO's prime output. The price can't be beat and, unlike many of these Original Album collections, all of the discs are the remastered versions with all of the extra tracks. Even though the sleeves themselves are replicas of the original LP sleeves with only the LP tracks listed, the outer case lists the extra tracks.Just add Out of the Blue and you have the peak ELO albums. .

BLUE SKY: THE VERY BEST OF ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA, dónde justamente Lynne recrea 11 de las mejores piezas de ésta ya clásica agrupación desde su primer sencillo, "10538 Overture" pasando por cosas como "Telephone Line,""Do Ya," "Livin' Thing" y hasta llegar al corte que da nombre a la recopilación y cómo adicional un álbum en vivo con otro tanto de material de ELO, grabado en la época del lanzamiento de ZOOM. Casi seis horas de música y una gran revisión de uno de los grandes artistas del siglo XX que en mi opinión no ha Sido muy valorado. La caja que recibes es delgada pero con muy buen terminado y muy resistente y cómo ya lo he comentado, el sonido de cada disco es maravilloso
