Wireless is so elegant smooth. Goodbye wires!
I have been enjoying this product for a few months. I had a Mophie cases on both iPhones I've owned. The Mophie battery case for my iPhone 5s was two years old and going down in strength so I ordered this on sale for less than $30 because I love wireless solutions. I hate the clutter, nuisance and plugging in and out of wires. The Mophie is especially bad because it uses a mini-USB which has a one-right-side-up design. It is especially a pain to plug in late at night in the dark as I put my phone away before going to sleep. With this unit, I just set the phone on the charger and that's it. It grabs the phone's case magnetically and makes the "charging" sound so I know all is well.I am sad to see this is the end of the line for this product. It made a great bargain for me, however. I guess Duracell gave up trying to please all of the people all of the time. Reading the reviews, I can see why they gave up. Many of the reviews seem really naive, but hey they just express what they feel. Yes, a case with wireless charging is thicker than a simple case without it, but it's still very slim, small and light. However, in an effort to make it light the case is not as protective as a case designed for protection. Yes, an extended battery makes the phone heavier. Here Duracell made it separate so you could take it off (unlike the Mophie), which is a plus to me. Whether it's too heavy is a matter of taste. However, I can say for sure that the basic iPhone battery is very insufficient for a power user and with a battery case the phone is still very light to me -- just not the ridiculous, feather-light feel of the Johnny Ive design. I wish I didn't love the iPhone operating system and ecosystem so much. I could then use one of the many Android phones with better batteries or built in wireless charging. Instead we're stuck with Johnny designing for glamour users instead of power users. Oh well, it generates a healthy case industry. The case has protected the phone from two waist-high drops - one to asphalt. It's not built as ruggedly and grippy as the Mophie. Still, I love the wireless design so much it more than compensates. There are a couple of other negatives. I can't get it to charge both parts correctly when the combined battery and case are on the phone. Instead, I place the phone case and the battery on the charger separately (there is room). The other problem is that the unit stops charging after the phone reaches 100%, then starts up again after it's dropped some. This leads to repeated sounding of the charging tone from the phone. I just take it off the charger the first time it happens and go back to sleep.Overall, I still love the wireless experience and hope there is a good solution when I finally need to upgrade my phone to a newer model.

It is ok, depending on your situation.
This review is kind of iffy to say the least. Here goes.I had purchased this product about a year ago. It was nice and dandy. It charged with the charging port and it was pretty cool, because it charged fast and on top of that I had a battery backup. It was nice when I went on fishing trips. This is the good stuff, here is the bad.The bad was that after a while if you drop your phone, no matter what side there was a chance that you would have to put the phone in a weird angle to charge it. Either vertical or horizontal. If you never had dropped it, it would work no matter what. If you did then you would have this issue. The charging port, the one that makes the phone was looked flimsy to say the least. It felted like every time I pulled it out, it was going to break. Now a product like this should not feel like that. It should feel like it was not going to. To say the least, it got to the point where one of the clips broke. The little ridge at the edge that makes it hook. Now purchase this at your own accord. If you are extra careful with your device and you do not accidentally drop it, then this product is for you.

Pros -1) I love the longer life with the extended battery2) wireless charging is awesome. I expect all newer phones to have this built in3) The lowered price is a steal4) get a new glass screen protector and this and for less than $50 you have a new phoneCons -1) Sometimes either the extended battery or only the phone battery will charge. I grabbed the phone once after it sat on th pad for hours and found either one of the batteries were still near 20%. damned near scared me.2) The phone is allot heavier. For me it feel like an old handset (which I like). But some of the fussier users may dislike3) The entire case is larger length wise than normal cases. It does allow for quick detaching of the lower receiver so you can use the power/data jack. I would have preferred a pass through designFinal thoughts -I grabbed this because my power jack was starting to go bad due to all the use. instead of buy the parts and replacing it I got this since you very rarely need to unplug the case power jack from the phone. I'll get another year out of the phone now.

Works great
This is a great product for older iPhone 5 models and particularly 5th and 6th generation IPods (6th generation is the current iteration of IPod). The IPod needs a little help to fit the battery case made for an iPhone—the iPhone is “fatter” than the IPod, So a couple of business cards used as shims or folded paper to size works well to make up the difference. Who uses IPods these days? Well you might be surprised! The ipod is a great platform for various software apps, the one which I use an iPod for is called Reyburn CyberTuner (high end piano tuning software) for IOS. Using CyberTuner, the ipod screen stays on constantly during use, and even turning down screen brightness to conserve battery power, it is nice having the battery case supply additional run time. Since the case is designed for the iPhone, which uses a lot of battery power, butIs running an ipod, which uses far less power, I basically get days and days of battery runtime with this setup. Also, placing recharging is a lot easier with this later gen battery case setup. With the older induction charger, lights underneath it indicated that the battery case was properly aligned on the charger. I’d have to pick up the unit to really see the lights. The newer double unit charger makes a little cheerful sound which verifies the battery case is sitting properly on the charger to charge. All for 10 bucks. Wow.

don't waste your money on this.
don't buy it. the case is flimsy and build to brake and the battery fades substantially after only 3 month (about 90 charges).
