Nice size and you won't misplace the cables, for lightning and micro USB charging.
Initially I didn't think I had the use case for the Duracell Powermat products. My phone keeps a charge most of the day, and I either have access to a charger in the car or an outlet at home or school. However, since getting these, they have come in handy for travel, camping, taking extra video and pictures at school games, and keeping devices for the wife and kids in business when they don't plan ahead and charge their stuff. This is a smaller unit than the "overnighter" and is targeted for "daytrips". A nice feature is it includes both a lightening connector and a micro USB cable that are attached and stow away along the edge of the batter. If you need a 30-pin connector (earlier iPhone/iPod), there is another model with that style included. Though it's a little awkward, it's small enough to carry in hand if you need to use your phone while attached. Tested on an iPhone 5s, it charged it right up and still had a little left in reserve. It charges right on a Powermat like the rest of the family, or you can charge it via USB if you don't have the Powermat charger. If you have a need for extra juice on the run, the Duracell battery worth a look in your comparison shopping.

Easy to use and share power
There are two great things about this battery pack. 1) It has both Lightning and Micro-USB plugs built right in. 2) If you have a powermat it charges itself without cables. It's also reasonably compact and will give a little more than half a charge on a modern smartphone. To use it is pretty easy, select a plug and press the copper logo on the front... but there are no directions on it and if you don't know you could assume it doesn't work. If you have a powermat and you just need a bit more juice to get you through the day then this is pretty close to ideal (easily recommended), otherwise you'd be better off with something with more capacity and a more obvious activation button (although the dual built-in plug types is still a pretty compelling feature).PROS:+ Charges most devices (current gen) Apple or MicroUSB (bluetooth headset, Android phone, etc).+ Easy wireless charging+ Pleasant LED status lightsCONS:- Less than a full recharge- You must press the front logo to activate phone charging- You still need to bring a micro usb cable with you when traveling to recharge itself- The right angle cables may have trouble working with some bulky phone cases and there is no plain USB port out.

Nice portable power but limited charge and doesn't work with older iPhones
If you have ever used your iPhone for taking photos on a trip, you probably know the frustration of having it run out of a charge and then not being able to take any more photos. Devices like this little backup battery are a huge help for this kind of situation, and this one is nice and small and not too heavy to carry around. It's a tradeoff to be aware of as it doesn't have a huge charge capability as a result, versus ones that will charge more but weigh more to carry around with you.The nice thing with this is that it actually has some cables built into it, both a charger for iPhone 5 as well as a micro USB. Unfortunately for me, I have an iPhone 4 so this device won't work for me, since it doesn't have an input with regular USB as all, unlike other similar backup batteries that I have. It can work however with a GoPower case, so I was still able to use it, but if I want to charge my device while carrying it around somewhere, I really need a cable to do that. It does though make a nice backup for my MiFi hotspot which I do tend to forget to turn off and run the battery down on and so I've been using it for that. If it had a normal USB input though, it would be much more flexible and handle more devices for me.

Great in theory, but stopped working.
First of all, I like the idea of this portable charger. Low profile, lightweight, and I like that it has both the Apple lightning cord and Micro-USB built-in. I don't understand the need for the usb-off-iphone button - why can't the device just have an on/off and figure out which cord is drawing the necessary energy? But my biggest complaint is that while I was able to make it work for a little while (although very slowly, and without much resulting output), now it doesn't work at all. The indicator lights go on when I plug it in to charge, but nothing happens when I then go to charge a device. It's now essentially a hockey puck. There are dozens of other affordable, portable chargers similar to this (I own at least 4 myself) - I would suggest buying one of THOSE instead.
