Very sticky, but not good for what I purchased it for
No problem with adhesive! Extremely sticky! It will hold just about anything. However, I purchased this for use as an X-Ray tech. Based on previous tech reviews, I thought this would be great for use as an adhesive for my X-Ray markers. Not so! Not only is it extremely "messy" (pieces of adhesive left behind everywhere), but it is NOT radiolucent and shows up on the X-Ray films as a "cloudy blob". This could easily be mistaken as a mass or abnormality on a patient film. I'm sure it could be used as an adhesive around the house, however, not for something that is temporary, due to it leaving pieces behind after moving the object.

No other re-usable adhesive can compare to Plasti Tak! It's the best!
Plasti tak was the first clay adhesive I'd ever used. I have some from 22 years ago and it still works great. The store I used buy it from stopped carrying it so I tried others...blue, yellow, grey. NONE work as well as Plasti tak. Others leave pieces of residue behind that need to be dabbed repeatedly with the tack to pick it up. Some get a hard film over them that is difficult to break through to re-blend. Some leave a stain behind on the wall where they were used. Plasti tak never did any of that. After years of frustration and not finding it locally, I finally found it on Amazon. I love the Plasti tak. The bit I have from 22 years ago is still my favorite even though it's kind of grey and not as sticky anymore. It is still the best of any of the ones I have! I'm super happy to have more now. I forgot how white and sticky it is when it's new. I pray they never stop making it. Plasti tak is a collector's duck tape! I hope I never have to live without it.

30 years of use
As a military family growing up, Mom never let us put poster holes in the wall because we were always one phone call away from moving again. So Plasti-Tak was our go-to through the 80s and 90s.My fiancée recently inherited a home her grandfather built and her mother is very protective of. When I wanted to do a large wall art piece for her with a few hundred silk butterflies, Plasti-Tak was my go-to because I trusted it would work without affecting the paint. I'm glad to say that even 30 years later, Plasti-Tak still works great. In my home, I use it to hold the corners of hung artwork in place so they don't shift (like earthquake putty, but paint-friendly).It doesn't say so on the instructions any more, but it used to recommend pulling and kneeding it before use, almost like taffy. This seems to still work best. Do this several times until its warm and that will help it hold in place pretty much forever (but don't worry - it's very easy to remove intentionally).

Not Just for Hanging Posters Anymore!
It's still the same as when I was in college 50 years ago! This time, instead of hanging posters in my dorm room, I was replacing my ceiling lights with smart lights. The new lights have a recessed counter along the outer edge rendering the pole with vacuum cup useless without something to provide adhesion for the irregular bulb surface. A rope of Plasti-Tak pressed across the diameter of the vacuum cup will hold the bulb securely in the correct position to lift and retain the bulb while securely screwing it in. With a gentle twist and pull motion, the Plasti-Tak releases cleanly, ready for the next bulb. Problem solved!

Didn’t hold for us
My daughter wanted to put up a bunch of posters so with the hope of saving the walls I purchased Plasti-Tak. One of the posters is a thin/light weight paper and it’s holding fine. The other posters are made of a higher quality/heavy paper and none of those have stayed fully attached to the wall. Our wall texture is a perfect Mama Bear, not too rough and not too smooth. I assume if it were smoother this product would have worked better but as is I’ve had to resort to thumb tacks :-(

Works well with small items
I ordered this product because we live in earthquake territory and I was worried about all the items overhead from falling during a shake up. However, I found that using it made it very difficult to dust the mantle and shelves. So I stopped using it. That said, it did work very well to hold small items from moving. But heavier items aren't as secure. Therefore, it really depends on how the product is to be used. Another important point is that it truly does stay flexible and able to be reused.

EARTHQUAKE PUTTY IS GREAT INSURANCE
In case of an earthquake, be prepared. I lost a lot of glass in the Ridgecrest quakes of July 4 & 5, 2019 (M6.4 & M7.1), because I didn't have "everything" quakeproofed. I do now! Love the putty over the wax .... easy to use as it is not oily and doesn't leave a residue on your furniture (which comes off) or on your fingers. However, everything that I had uses Earthquake Wax on, stayed in place. Highly recommend this product.
