Drill Press Vise Aluminum Casting

I PURCHASED TWO OF THESE FOR LIGHT WORK. THERE WAS CASTING FLASH ON THE BOTTOM CAUSING VISE TO ROCK ON DRILL PRESS TABLE. I MILLED THE BOTTOM SURFACE NOW THEY LAY FLAT. ONE QUICK RELEASE PLASTIC BUTTON WAS BROKEN I SUPERGLUED IT DONT KNOW HOW LONG THAT WILL LAST. I WOULD LIKE TO MILL THE STEP ON THE JAWS WITH A SKIN CUT TO TRUE IT TO TABLE AND PROVIDE PARALELL SURFACES BUT THE MATERIAL ON THE VISE IS NOMINALLY AN EIGHTH OF AN INCH THICK AND IT APPEARS THERE IS LESS THAN A SIXTEENTH OF AN INCH OF MATERIAL LEFT UNDER THE STEP. THE PARTIAL MALE THREAD ON THE QUICK RELEASE BUTTON ARE VERY SHALLOW AND I EXPECT THESE TO START SLIPPING AFTER SOME USE.I WAS EXPECTING A LIGHT DUTY VISE MAYBE JUST NOT THIS LIGHT. FINISH AND APPEARENCE ARE GOOD AND FOR THE PRICE I AM REASONABLY SATISFIED

In reading a lot of other reviews positive and negative, you've got to respect the product for what it is! That being said, it will do what you want it to do as long as it is light duty work & not industrial heavy duty work! The one major flaw I've encountered it that the clamps only have a grove on one side & not the other! But I just dipped them into Plasti Dip to get an even grip on both sides regardless of having only one grove! Now it's perfect for holding circuit boards etc.! The only reason I gave it 5star is because it still performs very well within its capable work load!!!

Rather cheaply made, the tightening screw often hangs up in the quick release button and the hold down slots aren't wide enough to match up to the slots on the drill press plate. It can be used to hold small objects by holding the tightening screw handle during drilling.

Minus: The moving jaw is skewing all the time horizontally and vertically. Quick release button seems to be broken in future.Plus: Light weight.Made in China

A fairly good produce that works well unless you need some real vice power, in that case I'd look for a better option.

Good starter clamp for delicate work....limited in positional work

There isn't much else to say - except save your money. Not worth the bother to return it. They made me write this much.

Have used on my drill press and has worked fine. been satisfied with this product.
