It's very soft and indeed does "puddle".

There’s no smell at all. The whole thing is completely lined. It has the look and feel of soft doe leather without any smell whatsoever. I continue to love this bag!!

i believe a dslr camera would fit inside this bag, although my bag arrived with one handle twisted on backwards. when i informed the company, they said they had experienced this problem quite often! i really like my bag, the softness of the material, the size and the color, but am very unhappy about the twisted handle that is permanent!
