Where have these been all my life
Using these with a Dell Latitude 7440 and a Dell Precision 5xxx. Basically, I have one part of the adapter connected to my dock station cable, and the other is in the USB-C slot. I'm constantly undocking/docking, and this thing works great. A big issue we have here is the wearing out of USB-C connectors/jacks, from constant plugging/unplugging, and this little thing saves me from having to send laptops out for service to have the jacks replaced.Magnet is pretty strong (not as strong as the Apple MagSafe), but it is prone to disconnecting if I move my laptop around too much, because the dock cable is fairly stiff, so the tension will unseat the magnetic connecting. Solution is to find a spot for my laptop, where the cable rests naturally, and leave it there.

Reliable Connection
I use this to connect a hub to the Thunderbolt port on my laptop so that I can rapidly disconnect my laptop when I want to take it with me. It's easy to connect and disconnect and always works. Magnet is pretty strong so it will resist some wire movement.

Work well for the angle needed with a caveat
They appear well constructed and when connected work well, but prove difficult when disconnecting them from my laptop ports. Their two-piece magnetic construction is the issue. the C-portion of the adapter stays in the port when I pull the cable away. This is a problem because of the thinness of the grasping section of the C-portion. It is difficult to grasp and remove. However, this might be due to my large fingers. I blame myself for buying them and not considering how the two-piece construction might be difficult to deal with. However. these adapters may work well where the possibility of damage to a device from a moving cable (such as being kicked) not disconnecting results in propelling the attached device off a surface to the ground.

Fantastic but be aware your laptop's port may be near internal components affected by the magnet.
Love the intended purpose of this product, which in my opinion saves some wear and tear on these ports. But I do want to share my install experience. Installation is simple as it gets. I first installed the provided metal caps into both of my thunderbolt ports, so far so good. I then took an adapter and tested its operation with the installed metal caps. The first port I tried it on caused my screen to blank out. I removed it and the screen came back. I tried this several times and every time had the same effect. As I was doing this, I noticed it did not require the adapter needed to be seated, only near it. So, I removed the installed metal cap and then slowly moved the adapter towards the port. Sure enough, the same thing occurred at about 4mm distance from the port. Discouraged, I took a break and check the other port. Plugged in the power cable and it worked!! Then, switch to the cable from my usb-c monitor and that worked too. Voila, now we are getting somewhere. The affected port is immediately adjacent to my HDMI port so perhaps that is part of its problem. In the end, I have one port that worked with these magnetic adapters and another that had issues. I plan to contact my laptop manufacturer. But for now, I rigged the affected port with a non-magnetic 90-degree (flat) adapter to offset the port location. Eventually I will get a thunderbolt dock and plug-in using a single cable from the unaffected port. So that the end of this install story. Now you know if something like this happens when you first go to install these. Its not you, its not the maker of these adapters. it could be your laptop.

They don't fit any USB cable I own
They technically work, but that's a pretty low bar. The magnet is not the strongest, but does stay attached. The big issue is the adapter isn't big enough to fit any USB cable unlike what is shown in all the images on the ad. Both adapters were too shallow to allow an entire USB C cable to seat into it so most cables pull out extremely easily leaving the adapter stuck to your phone. Unsure if this was a random defect that didn't pass QA but at least both of mine are affected.Edit: I have now lost both adapters because they don't seat in all the way so the cord pulls out easily. Waste of money.

Excellent quality magnetic adapter
I bought several packs of these. I don't know how, why, or when you'd cram 240W of power across a single USB cable... but I do have a few devices that eat 90+W while charging from near-flat, and there was almost no difference between charging those devices on a 100W charger via direct USB-C, or charging them on the same charger via the same cable, but with these adapters added. They snap on easily and break away safely without damaging the equipment they're connected to. HIGHLY recommended for enviornments with small children or other unwashed savages who yank on cords, shove devices against walls or seats without caring about plugged-in cords being in the way, etc.I first put these in my car, so that my kids wouldn't damage the USB ports in my car. They worked great for that. Then I got some for myself, just for convenience when charging my tablet at night. They worked great for that. Most recently, I bought another pair to use with my little-brother-in-law's latest laptop--he damages charge ports like you would not BELIEVE due to cramming the laptop against hard surfaces with the charger plugged in. HE doesn't like these... because they pop off when he does something that would otherwise damage his laptop, and then he has to plug them back in. But that's the whole point, so... they work GREAT for that too!
