Full disclosure: I didn't buy this for its cooler function, though that comes in handy. I bought it in my never-ending quest for the perfect all-around dance bag, which for me must be a backpack, because I'm married to a physical therapist who will gaze upon me with insufferable disappointment if I screw up my body by carrying around a cross-body bag.So I can't, at the moment, really tell you if this bag will keep your picnic cold until lunch time on a hot day, or what have you.I can, however, tell you the following:It's got some great exterior pockets! The one in the lid, which somehow I didn't realize it had until I received the bag, is ideal for keeping quick-access snacks, my epi-pen, and my inhaler handy.The one on the front/back (ppl disagree about which side this is on backpacks; anyway, it's the one opposite the straps) will handily hold a 10" tablet, three pairs of technique shoes (what normal people call "ballet slippers" – the soft ones, not pointe shoes), my wallet, and whatever other flat things I've forgotten that I stuck in there. It's got an inner divider with elastic.The mesh pockets are roomy and will hold a pretty large water bottle – a 40 oz Hydroflask should fit just fine, though typically I just stuff them with protein bars.The main compartment is roomy and appears to be well-insulated. I've added one of those felt backpack organizer things at the bottom to keep my various #dancerlife accessories organized and visible, and it's still got plenty of room for everything else I need and my lunch.The insulation also means that the bucket-style opening stays wide open when unzipped, so you can easily see into the bag's interior.The two grab handles feel extremely reliable. I often hesitate to use the ones on my backpacks, but not this time: these are built to last.The zippers and other hardware also feel sturdy and reliable.The straps are comfortable and offer quite a range for adjustment. My sole complaint is that a sternum strap isn't included, but it's not hard to add one.A bottle opener *is* included, however, as are a few thoughtful attachment points for things like keys.Lastly, the bright orange color makes it easy to spot, which seems like it might come in handy when traveling.I'll check back in when I get a chance to take some good pix and upload them, but thus far I'm pretty impressed with this bag.Definitely recommended as a backpack. As a cooler, I'm not really sure, but if I get a chance to really test its merits in that department, I'll update accordingly.

Bought this cooler backpack for my trip to Disney and have been well beyond impressed with the durability of this thing. Even packed full the straps are still extremely comfortable on the shoulders. This is probably the first and only soft shell cooler i have ever seen that does not leak. This bag will hold a bag of ice in it for 2 days before it is completely melted. It will hold a 12 pack of soda with half a small bag of ice and keep drinks ice cold for 2 days. The external pockets are extremely nice to have and the cooler does not wven leak into the pocket. You can store your phone in there with now worries of it getting wet from the ice melting and condensation forming. This bag has a nice, clean design and hands down well worth the price. I will most likely end up buying a couple more of these.

This insulated backpack cooler has been an absolute game-changer for me! Its spacious compartments easily accommodate snacks and drinks while keeping them refreshingly cold for hours. Love how much easier it is to carry a light picnic to outdoor events. It has a front pocket that is handy to keep a few paper plates napkins and corkscrew handy and dry. Inside there's plenty of room for water , chilled wine, cheese & crackers, sandwiches... Small containers of salads, olives and other picnic treats are easy. Not quite wide enough for the containers I used to pack up, but I'm learning to use the smaller ones. It's perfect for 2 of us but won't be enough if we are bringing things to share. It was quite comfortable when casually hiking too. The big cooler will be gathering dust most of the time I think!Seems to keep things cold, but the bag of ice started to get watery pretty quickly when we tried it because the motel freezer compartment was too small... Not that I expected a soft cooler to do the job in August! We did still have 1/2 the ice overnight...

I bought this product for a weekend beach trip with the girls in which I wanted to carry things myself. It insulates very well and with a bag of ice it kept everything nice and cold the whole day. Even sitting out in the hot sun at the beach. The zipper works well. I haven’t had any issues with it especially being in the sand and it’s definitely easier to clean because all it takes a little bit of a wipe down. As long as it stays dry, I imagine you won’t have any issues with a musty smell. It doesn’t leak out of the bottom of the bag, but it will leak out of the zipper, which makes sense. So as long as you remember to pour out excess melted water and to not accidentally lean over you’ll be fine.

This backpack cooler is PERFECT! It holds a lot and is comfortable to wear. Well made. I'm very happy with it.

This was a fantastic purchase. I was moving states and had a bunch of seafood & meat in the freezer that I didn’t want to throw out. I put about 3 bags of fish from Costco/sams, 1lb of ground Turkey, some cheesecake and a few duck breasts in here with what was honestly a very small amount of ice. 4 hours into the trip the bag started leaking (it was upside down) but I quickly realized it wasn’t zipped 100% closed which was my fault. Watch out for that. 9 hours later I expected to have to trash everything but it was still frozen solid. Only the ground Turkey had started thawing. Pictured is the ice at the end of the 9 hours. For context it’s August in a heat wave, but the car had A/C.

My sister-in-law had cancer and bringing food back and forth has been so tough. We had so many spillages and mental breakdowns from it. This is a God send and ever since, there has not been another problem. Food stays upright and within temp range. It’s so light and easy to carry with well-thought out compartments. I’m grateful for this product at the right time

Great cooler bag.I purchase this for our trip to florida. To carry in Disney World. It is very well made the covering is very washable.I like the extra pockets so you can carry your wallet etc.I would definitely recommend. Compared to what I see in my local stores. This product is superior. For the price.

Good materials used. I like the upper compartment. Lots of room for meals. The bright orange is also great for job sites.
