Mitchell300 Spinnrolle

I tend to do very intense weeks of sea fishing throughout the year. Usually stood in the surf, reels get used and abused, dunked and wound (lure fishing) all day long for days on end.This one is standing the test of time. Solid, well made, really really good line lay and well balanced (so the bale arm never slams shut mid cast). I typically buy a £50-100 (Shimano) reel every year and treat them as disposable as line rollers seize, anti reverse stops working, or they develop excessive play. This is still going strong!Update: line roller seized. Removed and cleaned with WD40, regreased and reassembled and now running fine.It's easy to miss a seized line roller, often you'll end up not realising and have a twist, tangle and wind knot nightmare. It could be better sealed. Maybe more suited to fresh water and not sea/sand

Easy and smooth to use great for feeder fishing

An 'old school' Mitchell man from the 60's, this reel surpasses the feel and performance of the 301 and Prince that I still use today. Lightweight and well made... smooth retrieve... great.

This is not really a Mitchell 300, just a new reel using the name, style, looks gone, did the original use plastic, of course not, maybe quite a good reel, but don't expect a Mitchell 300, sorry.

Good name Mitchell 300 year's ago But just too small looks silly. On my spinning rod. Gave it to my grandson.

This reel is awesome. I have other rods that I bring along with me when I’m fishing and this one is hard to put down. It’s a Mitchell. I expected nothing less of how it performed so far.
