Very poor product design.
Within an hour of putting walking stones in the ground, the pounding tool snapped at the base. Should have designed a solid handle atleast the part connected to the pounding base. I've been able to use a regular shovel handle to replace the hollow metal handle. But I shouldn't have to do that unless I just ordered the base.

A fragile tool is of no use.
First project the handle broke. Used it to tap down cold asphalt patch. Not much stress on the handle and it broke at the base. It is of no value.

Works, but needs one minor improvement
The media could not be loaded. I ordered this for my husband to use this spring. We are going to be doing some outdoor remodeling and building a fire pit. This will help him level and pack the ground. He was able to put it together easily. He likes the rubber handle. There is one element that needs improvement and I included a video showing this flaw. This product came with small rubber safety caps to cover the screw ends on the handle. I don't think the manufacturer tested these caps because they pop right off without even touching them. We tried several times to put them on and they just pop back off. This is definitely a flaw that should be corrected.

Look somewhere else.
It’s great if you are only wanting to use it a couple of times. Screws were jacked up from the start and it broke after trying to pack down tire tracks in the mud…yeah…mud. Honestly you’re better off giving the $40 to someone that needs it more than you and just using your feet to stomp your project flat. Straight garbage.Update: turns out it works better with just leftover pieces, lucky me. Actually, it doesn’t. I just wanted to show anyone thinking about buying this what it’ll probably look like after a few (and I certainly mean A FEW) thumps to whatever ain’t getting done.

easy to use
The craftsmanship is excellent, with a base that is quite heavy and sturdy. It comes with a 3-part handle and screws that are easy to assemble. I appreciate the design which allows for disassembly when not in use, making it possible to store it in a small container. The tamper head measures 8 inches by 8 inches and is constructed from rust-resistant material, ensuring durability and reliability. This allows for a larger area to be covered in one impact, saving time and effort. The quality is reliable, the structure is sturdy, and it is highly durable, not easily damaged or malfunctioning. The cushioned end grip provides comfort and control, enhancing the user experience. It is versatile and can be used for compacting various types of soil, whether on flat ground or slopes, it performs well. Overall, this tool has proven to be a valuable addition to my landscaping toolkit.
